The mistake you are making is thinking that Postinor is a contraceptive. It is NOT. It is an emergency drug meant to be taken when a contraceptive is not used and should never be regularly used.

A contraceptive is a drug or device that prevents conception from taking place and it is taken (swallowed or injected) or put in place BEFORE intercourse.

You should go and thank the pharmacist for being more concerned about you than about 'selling market'. I know some other people might just have been mocking your ignorance and will never say a word.

Please, consult a doctor before you damage your health irreparably. Even a primary health care centre will guide you aright.

No they aren't. They are actually synthetic versions of the natural hormones which the body cannot use. So they build up and disrupt the whole process of ovulation and fertilisation. Some are a mixture of oestrogens and progestogens while others are progestogens only.

There are diff types of contraceptives. you could use d pills(oral contraceptives) its a packet of 28 pills or injections, IUD (the Intrauterine Device), they are also of diff types i.e copper T, safety coin etc. or Implants - dis one wil last like 5 years. there are 2 types of postinor. Postinor 2 is stronger. you can only be at risk of getting pregnant for only 8days in a month i.e menstrual cycle month. if within these 8 day u had intercourse then u can use postinor 2 which is effective if u had intimacy within d last 72 hrs.

Tubal ligation
That means surgically having the fallopian tubes tied and its generally considered to be a permanent method of birth control!!!

There is a procedure for reversing it but without a high success rate because the fallopian tubes are very delicate.

The poster is still a young lady who probably hopes to have children some day so tubal ligation is not for her.

*The use of a diaphragm which is a form of barrier preventing the sperm and egg from meeting to fertilise.
*Tubal ligation which is used for those who don't have plans of having more children.
