After conceding 14 goals in the regular qualifying phase (9 of them to Germany), it won't be a surprise if Sweden line up in a 4-5-1 formation. The objective would be to cut off, as much as possible, all supplies from the Portuguese midfield to either Ronaldo or Nani.

In the end though, I think Sweden would need a crucial away goal to boost their chances of qualifying.

Exactly. The 1st leg result is crucial. If this game ends 0-0, Portugal will have the advantage in the 2nd leg, knowing that if they score the 1st goal on Tuesday, Sweden would need to score twice without conceding another one.

On a side note, apart from the Egypt v Algeria match in 2009, this has to be the most anticipated World cup playoff tie ever.
