After searching various forums and via various search engines, I have come to the conclusion that the available 5W30 engine oil in Nigeria is not affordable. It seems all engine oils of this grade in Nigeria today, are imported. The cheapest it seems is Milematser from Konga, costing N6500 last time I checked. Also found out that this is the specified oil rating for most japanese vehicles made in the last 15 years. So, why can't our oil marketers eg Mobil, Oando, AP etc provide this oil at affordable prices eg N3000 and below. Is there no demand or are these companies not aware of the demand? Is there truly demand by our mechanics or is it only people who read car manuals that think this is the oil to use?

Konga sells for N6100. I truly do not understand why our marketers are not producing this viscosity. Perhaps it might not be affordable if they did.
