DID YOU KNOW?

Nigeria have not lost at home in the FIFA World Cup preliminary tournament since 10 October 1981,when they were beaten 2-0 by Algeria in Lagos. Since then, Nigeria have picked up 27 wins (including 21 consecutive victories) and two draws from their home qualifiers.

Along with Tunisia, Nigeria have scored more goals in FIFA World Cup qualification than any other side, 151 in total.

Furthermore, Nigeria became the first African side to hit a century of goals in the competition following their 3-0 home win over Sudan on 7 January 2001. The historic 100th goal was claimed by Victor Okechukwu Agali on 67 minutes.
