President Yaradua In Uk: Who Cares? by Nobody: 1:56pm On Jul 17, 2008 |
I am sure it is stale news that President Yaradua is now in UK to meet the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. However, my concern is who cares This first visit of our President and supossedly a historic one has been largely shunned by the British media. A peep into the British foremost media BBC website would not even feature it as a top news. I have read the metro newspaper this morning and not even a mention of Yaradua's visit. This is contrary to what happens in Nigeria, where the media usually run a 30-day countdown for visiting Presidents of UK or US with embossing pictures on the first page of their paper and clips and footages at every news hour. I don't know if we are to blame the British media for ignoring our "icon" or chastise our local press for being subservient in carrying out their legal duties and constantly reminding us of our inferiority, disgusting As far as I'm concerned, President Yaradua is in UK, we (the British) don't care!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/?ok |

Even if I have as many as 100 citizenships, I always see myself as Nigerian. And why did you ask? You also didn't address the issues |

i asked becuse u said "we (the british) dont care" and answering your question, you "british" dont care because you loathe and detest and stereotype nigerians (just my personal opinion) so why would u waste valuable space in your media advertisisng the arrival of someone you "british" dont like. |

There is a popular saying that charity begins at home. What has yar a'dulll done in his own country for anyone to respect him anywhere in the world. Meanwhile as I am typing this messageĀ Iam also watching BEN TV which is showing the official reception for Yar A'dull at the Nigerian High commissioners residence in London. Another name for Yar A'dull is Joke, of course a less joke than his former boss OBJ who is a better clown. Anybody who is being fooled and he does not know he is being fooled when it is obvious is a big fool. |

This reminds me of Obj's 'state' visit to the Uk a few years back. . . . They thought so highly of Baba then, they saddled him with Ex-PM James Callaghan to give a tour of Westminster. Its a shame the Tories are not in power. . . .The picture of Maggie Thatcher escorting Yaradua around London would be priceless. |
