The country is currently competing against eight other bids for the 2018 and 2022 games, including Australia, South Korea, the United States, England, Japan, Russia, Spain and Portugal, and Belgium and The Netherlands. the stadium will be accessed by a new metro line and direct roads, which are expected to spur the growth of the area. Solar panels will be installed on canopies over parking and service areas in order to generate renewable energy for the stadium when it’s in use, and they will power the surrounding neighborhood when there are no games.
