soya milk: put enough water in a pot and bring to boil. take it off the stove pour your dry soya bean inside leave for some time to let it soak then wash like you do your bean when u want to make moimoi after the skin are all out, blend till smooth. now sieve and pour the into a pot and cook do not cover the pot (the steam will pour out) keep turning it with an eba turner let it cook till you could feel some thick/dry paste under the pot (maybe after 1 hour) when it is done, take off the stove and let it cool. your milk is ready i did mine this way a good friend from Kaduna taught me this, |

If you buy dried soya beans, it's also important to cook them properly. This is because the raw beans contain a natural toxin (which is called a 'trypsin inhibitor') that can stop you digesting food properly. However, it's easy to destroy the toxin if you prepare the beans properly. Follow these three steps to destroy the toxins: 1. soak the dried beans for at least 12 hours 2. drain and rinse the beans then cover them with fresh water 3. boil them vigorously for 1 hour Then you need to simmer the beans for approximately 2 to 3 hours to make them tender. If you buy tinned soya beans, they have already been through this process so you can use them straight away. |

Dear Imme, This how I prepare my Soyabean for my baby. 1. Pick remove dirt from your purchased soya beans. 2. Fry the soya beans as if your are frying Ground nut. Check if you can remove skin by rubbing in between your fingers. 3. Take it to a local grinding machine where they will remove skin for you, if you can do it yourself fine. 4 After removing the skin, grind with dried prawn and little groundnut. You add this soyabean powerder to your babies pap or as an adult you can add to you tea. 2 Likes |

Get a soy milk maker. I have one, very easy to make from soaked beans. I have also cooked soy beans and eaten them as regular beans. They take longer to cook so use a slow cooker. Also look into making tempeh. Very easy and less waste. Also you can enjoy tempeh and replace animal protein with soy protein. Soya is much healthier and much cheaper than animal protein. |
