Father of Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Iheanacho has told MTNFootball.com the final choice of Manchester City was because God will lift him there after the family prayed over the matter. James Iheanacho told MTNFootball.com:”We prayed yesterday and after due consultations with family members, we came up with Manchester City believing he has a future there. That is where he will be uplifted.” The family meeting, which was attended by the football star, went on past midnight on Monday. Last week, there was a major falling out between father and son over the choice of a European club for the MVP of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup. Kelechi had insisted on Portuguese champions FC Porto, which would have also taken Eaglets teammate Chidera Ezeh as part of the bargain. But his father wanted him to take up the offer from Manchester City or Chelsea. Kelechi finally got home in Owerri Monday morning after he left home for several days without the consent of his father. The father had to go on radio to say his son was missing. www.mtnfootball.com/europe/epl/news/2013/nov/26-god-will-lift-iheanacho-at-man-city-says-father.html |

In the end, some parents ruin the future of their kids thinking they're helping it. Let them monitor him, I mean, the Nigerian coaches, if they can keep an eye on him and make sure his talent isn't wasted in club level, not just abandon him and let the club do whatever they wish like they did with Mikel, then his future could still be bright, just being African is already a disadvantage cos he may be overlooked for his less talented European and South American counterparts for playing opportunities. I still think he should have contacted Kanu for guidance if they were as close as he had implied |

By the time his teammates who opted for clubs like Porto, lisbon, Udinese, Lille and arsenal would be getting a starting position in their various teams at maybe age 19, our supposed most valuable player in UAE would still be struggling to start for City's reserves. His parents are gradually ruining him with their greed. 1 Like |

Theben: By the time his teammates who opted for clubs like Porto, lisbon, Udinese, Lille and arsenal would be getting a starting position in their various teams at maybe age 19, our supposed most valuable player in UAE would still be struggling to start for City's reserves.i see other of his team mates overtaking and out speeding him soon... Look at Ramon Azeez today, still developing his game and now in the starting 11 of Ameria but not yet in the SE, yet he was team mate to Ogeyi Onazi who has fully secured his seat belt in the Super Eagus lol... I fear for Nacho's Future. |
