IGBO SHOULD BID FOR 2015 PRESIDENCY.....Balarabe Musa

THE ONLY CREDIBLE CANDIDATES IN IGBO LAND are Soludo, Jim Nwobodo, Ndubisi Kanu, Emeka Anyaoku. Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, Commodore Chief Ebitu Ukiwe, General Chikadibia Obiakor, Dora Nkem Akunyili, Obiageli Ezekwesili, Ben Obi and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

From ROMANUS UGWU, Abuja

Second republic Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has argued that lack of credible candidates for the 2015 Presidential election, has made it imperative for a candidate of Igbo extraction to stake a claim presidency in 2015.

The chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), who dropped the hint in his keynote address in a dialogue conference organised by a political pressure group, the South-east Forum in Abuja on Tuesday, however urged Ndigbo to forge regional unity amongst themselves ahead of the 2015 Presidential election.

While arguing that Ndigbo stand a bright chance provided they present a nationally electable candidate acceptable to the other geo-political zones, he warned that ethnic group could win election on its own.

“Fortunately for the Igbos, there is no ethnic nationality or region or zone or state that can boast of a candidate with true national appeal ahead of the 2015 Presidential elections that will emerge towards the middle of 2014 perhaps.

“Unlike during the first and the second republic where there was at any time a number of leaders, each of whom, had at least reasonable national appeal, the political system has been destroyed.

This is an opportunity for every section of Nigeria, wishing for the presidency in 2015. The challenge for the Igbos, is to be more realistic and present a candidate who is not only an Igbo-man but more importantly a patriotic Nigeria who understand the negative state of the nation, the root of it and who is credible, experience and capable. “It is also important that Ndigbo present a person who is electable. If you don’t present an electable person, you will find that in spite of the privilege of having to produce the president in view of the zoning formalized by the PDP and practiced by all the political parties before that candidate can win, he must be the right person. If he is not the right person he will not win because no section of the country can win the presidential election alone,” he noted.

Unfortunately, this is one concept and reality they do not understand. For now, they are happy with their local and tribal demagogues...

When all they do is call people from other regions names. The yorubas they call of.em.an.nu while they call the hausas almajiris. Do you think such people will vote for them?

The worst is that they dont know what they want. Today is biafra, tomorrow presidency. Who would want to vote for a secessionist tribe?

So Nigerian Presidency is now on auction. Pls Musa should give out the time table.
But anyway, the most important challenge the Igbos face with no solution in sight is Unity and sacrifice of personal for group interest. This is the reason they still have 5 states while other zones have 6 each. Everybody needed a state for his family and refuse others to join him to make up the state.

Presidency should not be the focus of Igbo now rather a restructured Nigeria. Just like the Afenifere vowed to take Jonathan's National Conference to exert the structure of a Nigeria they would like, Ndigbo should grab this opportunity with both hands. If we restructure Nigeria, there would be no need to fight over the Presidency. Afterall, during the era of regional govts, Ahmadu Bello preferred the North to Lagos.

well that is the only option nigeria has to avoid blood shed.

the whole nigeria will have to settle for an igbo president, because a serious battle line is drawn already.

It will be the height of gullibility to believe or think that Balarabe Musa wishes the igbos well. The greatest fear of the north now is that the almighty north is divided already between PDP and APC meaning that the votes ffrom that region is shared already. the block votes from SE and SS is a major threat. Hence, the cocky advice fom the white beared old man to Igbos to consider fielding a candidate.

how i wish it was from a pure heart.

Nice one. I never considered this country's break up until the last two years when its slowly dawned on me that this Nigeria is a joke. Only igbos who always have crooked interest like OUK will start touting this igbo president shit.

His type need to be made irrelevant and this conference will allow us know the snakes among us for who they really are. Any igbo who doesn't seize the advantage of this conference will be left behind. Nuff said.

Really?
All I see is to break GEJ's hold of de SE.
@ Musa don't worry the Ibo's are ok with GEJ up there.

The North knows dat GEJ is unstoppable so any means to split his vote is welcomed by them all in a bid to return power to de North. It will not work.

Hehehe, see advice, thanks old man for ur insight, but last thing we needed in 2015 is the presidency.
Our focus is the National conference which will determine whether this lugard experiment will remain beyond 2015.
If it remains, then he can throw his weight behind Igbo presidency come 2019.

One thing that gladens my heart is, while the imgbati tribe in their delusions whine& complain over they fictitious dearth of presidential materials in Igboland, this old man identify that we have them in abundance.

coolOnly reasonable aboki

The day i see ur criticism against others that call other better leaders names here on NL, that day i will take u serious. Till then Retardeen remains Jonathan and u remain an hypocrite. What is good for ebele is also good for these ones.
Secondly, will advise u not to bring ur family members to NL issues and discussions, It may backfire and u may not be able to absorb the aftereffect.
