Vincent Enyeama stayed in top form to help
10-man Lille win 1-0 away at Valenciennes
on Saturday after Franck Beria was sent off.
The Nigerian has now gone 945 minutes
without conceding a goal as Lille have not
lost in 10 matches. He is closing in on the
Ligue 1 record of 1,176 minutes held by
Gaetan Huard during the 1992-93 season
with Bordeaux.

He was voted the best player in the French
top flight for the month of October.
Substitute Ronny Rodelin scored the only
goal for Lille in the 47th minute.
“It wasn’t easy, I think we went through
every type of emotion,” Lille coach Rene
Girard told media.
“Ten matches in a row without conceding a
goal, that’s a first in my career,” added
Girard.
“It shows the character of this team.”
Lille are in the top three behind Monaco and
PSG.

He only needs to be consistent for more than 3 minutes to break the record on December 3rd.

wasak: good defenders matter a lot
Nt really, defends can only do a little, because dere is no defends dat cannot b broken in d world of football, nt even bayern, bercelona or spain defends. He already save 2 penalties, 15 saves, 25 blocks, dis is beyond d capacity of a good defends. If his defends is very good, he shouldnt av made more dan 5 saves and 15 blocks in 15 matches.

Enyeama is good and dont really depend on his defends, though dey also play dere part.

Remember is defends was unable 2 stop falcao, but he did stop him frm scoring.

Olife: It was remarkable when our National Team's Shot Stopper won the Ligue 1 Player of the Month ahead of Super Zlatan.
With his performance against Valenciennes yesterday which ensured he extended his clean sheet to 10 league 1 matches (though he hast concended in all competition since Nig vS Ethiopia 1st leg in September) and 945 minutes, he his 3mins behind record holder - Salvato Sirigu (The PSG shotstopper).

But this can only be actualize if he again, guides his post jealously against 'Mighty Marseille' come 3rd December.
What do we think?

BTW I wish Enyeama Luck as his current form, if consistent, will definately be a booster for us in Rio de Janerio come 2014.

Actually it turns out the Ligue 1 record is 1176 minutes, Sirigu's 948 minutes is actually the second best.
Re: Enyeama On The Verge Of Making History by Nobody: 12:19pm On Dec 01, 2013
And the record owner doesnt have a name?
The fact remains that Sirigu is the current holder.
You can make more research.

Well, I hope he doesn't waste the clean sheets that are supposed to be for the World Cup on the Ligue 1.

nah, it's on Wikipedia, the Gaen dude holds that record in Ligue1, he has to survive 3 more games to break the record. Btw, abeg what is 'mighty' about Marseille? Last I checked PSG, Lille and Monaco top the tables, so where's Mighty Marseille? Were they too busy amassing 0 points in their Champions league group?

Enyeama now on 990 minutes and counting... First half Lille vs OM finishes 0:0

That means that Enyeama now has the 2nd longest clean sheet record in Ligue 1 history, beating Sirigu's record of 948 minutes. Still on track for the French record of 1176 minutes. If he survives the next 45 minutes he will have 2 relatively doable games: 9th placed Bordeaux away and 8th placed Bastia at home.

It must be said however that those two Senegalese players that Lille have are real superb talents! Souare and Gueye - remember those names.

Infact, Journals made it known that the late goal from Roux was really a compensation for Enyeama's display of goal keeping prowess.
