nenergy: I Sincerely don't understand all this noise. Well I blame the service providers for allowing BIS work on non-BB devices in the first place. If it didn't work then all this racket won't exist. If you love diesel, then buy a diesel powered car. Una one use fuel for diesel engine.hahahahah
In other words, BB users alone are entitled to BIS, while non BB users (predominantly Android) should stick to the regular subscription packages. see indirect beefing o cheesy na so e still dey pain una reach say BB don die?

dheaven: Stoping blackberry internet service on non blackBerry device cannot kill Airtel rather it will improve their service cos they will now have a superfast internet service which pple will be willing to pay for. Too much users is making their service poor. Airtel now wishes to focus on quality and not quantity as mtn is doin presently. Though i will advise they look for a way to improve their service and make their data service cheaper as it is in other countries
airtel manager, we hear you.

~Bluetooth:
Airtel is running a business not a charity organization and if stopping BIS on android seems to be a better business policy to them, let them be and move to another network. If other networks are not doing it, Airtel shouldn't be forced to do it. Business is about competition and making profits. You are entitled to dump their network if you don't like their services .

If anybody feels aggrieved, they should take it up with the necessary regulatory agencies to negotiate better deals from service providers.

inasmuch as I was at the recieving end of the NoBisOnAndroid move, I cant help buh agree wif u.

That's the simple truth. It is obvious that some people have refused to accept the reality on ground. Airtel was even merciful for allowing the service to run for almost a year while other service providers didn't allow it to run for two months.

emmydeep: The family of airtel nigeria, wish to announce the untimely death of airtel nigeria.
Airtel nigeria died yesterday 3rd of december, 2013 after a brief cancer of vote of no confidence past on it for none performance, embezllment, theft and 419 by over 40,000,000 nigerian youths of the online constituency.

Untill its death, airtel was the leader of the internet service providers association of nigeria.
It was gatherd that its wickedness towards its family members made them to also reject its corpse.

Airtel was burried in the evil forest according to traditional rights. It was also gatherd that all its family members gatherd together the only gift it gave them while alive (airtel sim) and
burried it alongside.

Left to celebrate its death are; globacom, etisalat, mtn and others to numerous to mention.
Left to mourn him are nairaland, linda ikeji, seun osewa, naija loaded, and over 40,000,000 youths in nigeria.

Airtel's judgement has long begun and will be in hellfire soon.

Final verdict! Airtel i have burnt your sim oo oo oo.

Your just deceiving yourself. Airtel is here to stay

It made front page because traffic to this site have reduced drastically and all hands are on deck to use every possible means to make airtel reverse their decision.

undecided I don't think I understand this antic again. It was funny at first but now it's annoying. It's like looking for a weak child and trying to bully that child because s(he) is making a stand. Why not bully/issue threats to MTN or Etisalat?

The only puzzling thing about this whole brouhaha is that, Airtel's edge over other networks was in the fact that you could always re-subscribe once your data was exhausted regardless of the fact that your duration wasn't up. This means more airtel cards were bought.

Oh well, they know what they want. They are the ones seeing the figures whilst we can only speculate.

It affects me because I can't use in a modem as before but I cannot break this 'celtel' line, was my first line before MTN. If push comes to shove, I'd rather buy a nokia two sim phone, put the both lines there as call lines and use an internet-user-friendly network for my bb.

Ehen, lest I forget. Airtel, Tis' cruel that N1,000 is 200mb whilst N1,500 is 2gb even for bb. The 'wide' difference is so not cool.

sniperwolf:

When MTN blocked the BIS people moved to AIRTEL because that was Opportunity for them. Now people will move back to MTN.

If Airtel decides to offer the same data capacity of MTN for same about, who would be using Airtel. After all I always move to my gate to get better connectivity with my Airtel

Why didn't you guys break and burn your mtn sim cards.? What's this noise about Airtel as if they have done what has never been done by any network.
Consider mtn and Airtel BIS on other devices and tell me the regime you most benefited.

Airtel is a poor network provider. No growth. poor network. Bad management. I'm not surprise at their inexperience to provide easy and efficient service.
