On Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela,
A great leader,
born of the struggle,
to free blacks shackled,

Nelson Mandela,
he didn't surrender,
when tides turned tough,
he never was rough,

Nelson Mandela,
the African father,
a symbol of hope,
bound us like rope,

Nelson Mandela,
bore great power,
though great stayed lowly
with lesser men haughty,

Nelson Mandela,
never one purer,
but did his bit,
and his light lit,

Nelson Mandela,
came out stronger,
for 27 years jailed,
his spirit never failed,

Nelson Mandela,
South Africa's Madiba,
while we bid you bye-bye,
your legacy shan't die.

Badiru kehinde: THE LEGENDARY MADIBA

A fruit that sprout out in 1918,
Grew up in the pool of the pathetic aparthied system.

He was a man,A man was he,
He suffered for others to enjoy the fruits of freedom.

Freedom was his desire,
Egalitarianism He struggled for.

A legend he was,A legend he is,
A legend he will continue to be,

Its painful there is no replacement of you,
A man who will forever remain in our hearts.

Heaven's sent, man of honour and valour
The madiba of our lifetime.

Icon of anti-aparthied movement,
Icon of peace and justice.

O ye death! be not proud over him,
Death could have taken you away but you forever remain in our hearts.

FOR NELSON MANDELA (18th July 1918 to Dec 5th 2013)
By BADIRU KEHINDE

A fruit spread across african,
And other western worlds,
Eaten; and there was freedom in the world.

A fruit that forgave his ealier destroyers before it sprung back to life,
An epitome amongst fruit
Free, gentle and simple,

His sweet nectar binds races,
White eats the porridge of the blacks,

Black sucked the breast of whites,
Fruit with 27 years beneath before he sees the sun,

After he sees the sun,
The world want to water, he was watered,
And soon; food to black races, epitome to whites,

Today! He's happy has he dies;
The whole world had tested ur sweetness,
Even if u are no more; ur sweetness'll last in our heart.

Quite a multi million dollar question...Our actions & inactions, how we lived rightly will determine where we spend our eternity...HEAVEN or HELL....But I do know angels will presently be celebrating a legend...NELSON MANDELA

A TRUE AND UNDISPUTED HERO WORTHY OF EMULATION AND MENTORING . HE FOUGHT A BATTLE FOR JUSTICE,FREEDOM AND EQUALITY . IF NIGERIA HAD LEADERS LIKE MADIBA, EVERY NIGERIAN WOULD BE PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN.

MADIBA! MADIBA!! MADIBA!!!
The vultures are GATHERING
The lands are SHIVERING
The church bells are RINGING
The undertakers are WAITING
you are a symbol of FREEDOM
And the staff of WISDOM
You create freedom KINGDOM
Even the oppressors can not change that in LONDON
You went through many SORROW
But you came out a HERO
The greatest man ALIVE
The warrior of KWAZULU NATAL
The podium and PACE
A true father of all RACE
The ancestors are whispering in your EAR
Because the end is NEAR
We know life is STRANGE
This we can not CHANGE
You will be celebrated after a CENTURY
Not only in your COUNTRY
As your eyes is DIMMING
And the heart slowing BEATING
One thing is for SURE
You've ruled your FUTURE

LEGEND OF THE MADIBA

The stars gathered round to form their constellations
High above the African sky
Invisible to the human eye
Lo, an Emancipator is born

From a royal clan he emerged
To learn the truths of human existence
But to the criminal's lounge was submerged
By men who loved wicked Apartheid

A Nation baptised in the sea of injustice
Day and night he bled to liberate
With weapons of kindness and words of peace
He spearheaded a revolution and opened the gates

Now the sons of South Africa
Pay tribute to their fallen father
The world is one
At least for this season

Born, maybe the worst of them all
Surely died the greatest of them all
Madiba
1918,2013 and forever
