If the Oba really needs his life he should just dethrone himself because the third attack might cost him his life.

Barbaric people. Are there no civilized way for them to express their grievances?

So typical of people from that region.

PAGAN 9JA:
I APPEAL TO ALL TRADITIONAL MONARCHS TO PLEASE RESPECT THE GODS OF THE LAND!

IF YOU WANT TO ESCAPE A SIMILAR FATE!

YOU ARE HERE FOR A PURPOSE TO PROTECT THE TRADITIONAL RELIGION AND CULTURE!

NOT TO DO AWAY WITH IT AND IMPOSE FOREIGN BELIEFS ON THE INSTITUTION!

Custodians of traditions and shrines in Ado-Odo town in Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, yesterday, explained that the failure of Oba AbdulLateef Adeniran to embrace all the Deities in the area led to the attack by the hoodlums who beat him up, stri*ped him unclad then burnt down his palace .

The traditionalists, under the aegis of the Olorisa Parapo of Oduduwa Shrine who appeared, yesterday, before the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the state government to look into the crisis in the area said it would not have been possible for any hoodlum to touch the Oba if he had “subjected himself to all the traditional rites before ascending the throne.”
Leading the aged men and women to the commission which sat at Isabo in Abeokuta, the Otun Olorisa Obirin, Chief Akoye Osolo, and the custodian of Oduduwa shrine, Chief Sule Odunlami, accused Oba Adeniran of preventing them from performing their traditional rites, vowing to resist any attempt to lord the embattled Oba on the people of the town.
The group, however, told the commission that one Adetokunbo Akinsowon led a team of mobile policemen and hoodlums to the town weeks before the crisis to enforce the Supreme Court judgment which favoured the embattled Oba.
Oba Adeniran was attacked by hoodlums April 14 and 15, 2013 where he was beaten and stri*ped unclad before they burnt down his palace.
Meantime, the driver of the embattled monarch, Olufunmi Olajide, told the court that the hoodlums actually had the intention of killing the Oba.
Olajide while giving details of the attack on the monarch, told the commission that one Mr. Jaiye Falana and Fatai Egi (aka Ode) masterminded the attack.

OBA ADENIRAN!

CHOOSE BETWEEN ISLAM OR IFA ORISHA AND THE THRONE!

YOU CANT DO BOTH! angry

I commend your effort in trying to explain the issue at stake. Please is the issue about not showing respect to the traditional gods or not showing interest in Islam? smiley

josite: some of these obas knew they are born again again Christians and have no desire to perpetualise any tradition and yet for vainglory will accept the role that demands idol worshipping. I once told a well know Nigerian chieftain who chooses to offer me an obaship rather than his own son who is in the same profession I am that if they accept all the chickens ,palm oil meant for the gods are to be taken to my kitchen and further accept that I will retraditionalise the town setting up new institutions and iscarding the old traditions I will accept to be the odemo of ishara.of course I know they will never accept so the case was permanently closed.

recently one well read ode remo woman was complaining about the brutal dismembering of the late village headmaster eleyinmin aka funsho adeolu who was the late king of ode .The issue is was the man ignorant of the fact that his corpse will be dragged round the town and dismembered before he accepted the kingship.

let us reject positions that we know we are not ready for and this is why we must ensure JOANTHAN is not re elected.
