How To Identify/prevent Fake Jobs by TRADELYN: 10:49am On Dec 09, 2013
WARNING!!!

It is now becoming a common practice in which some unscrupulous set of people engage in deceiving innocent job applicants with a view to meeting their self interest. Thus, as a way to reduce this scourge, we have decided to provide some useful information which you will find interesting. Many thanks to Nairaland!
Enjoy...

1. Do not share or give your CV to anyone (person/firm that has no facts about a job he/she claims is vacant): This is why you have to always make a little findings about the job by yourself. It's now a common habit among fresh graduates to start distributing their CVs to everyone. They think it's their best/easiest way to get a job. Please have a rethink.

2. As a job applicant, you have to determine how you intend to build your career before applying for jobs (especially online). Did you know that many job applicants are fake too? This is so if you apply for jobs you are not qualified for (i.e jobs outside your discipline), then you are fake. Many recruiting firms will blacklist you. This is why many complain that they have never been called with regards to their several job applications. Just as the saying goes, "like minds come together," your CV get to the fake ones - and they know how to influence you since they have your profile at their finger's tip.

3. You should not pay for any fee no matter how sensible the reasons could be. For example, if you are told to pay for HIV test, tell them that you have a certified clinic/laboratory that you are registered with. Any fee that you should pay must come after you have been employed (these must be statutory/rights fees as stated in the employment letter).

Compliments of the Season in Advance!
