Artemis Fowl 2020 follows the adventure of the titular character as he tries to save his kidnapped father from an evil fairy.

That being said, this is easily the most incoherent and incompetent movies I've seen all year. AF costs over 100 million dollars to produce, yet this humongous budget does not show in any way. The movie has like 4 or 5 sets in total most being indoors. The CGI at the best of times look uninspiring and generic and at the worst it looks like shit. Even the actions sequences are just bland.


The story is so generic yet muddled and makes very little sense. There is this character who is just dumping exposition after exposition. Things that we should have seen are instead told to us via exposition. Characters are introduced by exposition and they never get a chance to grow.

In the beginning of the movie we are told that Artemis Fowl has genius level intellect but through out the movie he isn't really put into any situation that shows that he is exceptionally smart, rather things just conveniently fall in place for him.


The pacing is awkward and when the movie ends you can't help but asking "is this it "?

The acting in the movie is easily the worst thing about it. I know that most child actors suck mainly because they don't have experience in acting but this is a 100+ million movie - the could have done better.
The boy who plays Artemis is atrocious. He can't emote to save his life. Colin Farrell who is a very experienced actor just looks incredibly bored - like he just wants to collect his pay check and go. Even the acting from Judy Dench looked sub-par.


This movie is a total waste of time. Don't bother watching it

Hawk The Slayer (1980).

I had the videotape of this movie from around 1983 till 1988, but the videotape was only clear until around 5 minutes to the end of the movie. I have never watched the end until now.

It was a gripping movie, I loved the sword, the dwarf grossed me out, I was impressed by the elf and I absolutely fell in love with the witch.

This movie was a fantastic feel good movie. The plot was unpredictable, the soundtrack is one of the best out there (I still have 2 of the songs on my exercise playlists), but you see this courtroom scene, this courtroom scene was everything. It's one of the funniest scenes in moviedom.

Great animation, which is usually the norm for DC... Story was great, basically it was like another episode of the Flash TV series, a non crap version...Basically a Crossover between Flash and Arrow TV series.. All the voice characters were basically the same from Flash and Arrow, I had to go to Google and see the cast once I heard all their voices.. Oliver Queen was the Same Gloomy MF... Basically the same characters from their TV series counterparts, they also looked the same... Very Enjoyable, and highly recommended

Body and Soul (1981).

It feels so different now that I know who acted in this movie.


I watched this movie in 1981 and I thought that the lead actor was Sugar Ray Leonard. You see, after the Ali era of boxing came the Sugar Ray Leonard era and then the Mike Tyson era. This movie was released during the Sugar Ray era and I was excited to see Sugar Ray and Ali in the same movie.


However, I had a discussion on Nairaland with Caveatemptor in 2017 and I wrote about this movie and he wrote about another movie that Sugar Ray had done, only for us to discover in the course of our discussion that Sugar Ray did not act in any of those movies. The actor was actually Leon Isaac Kennedy, who actually looks like Sugar Ray.


This movie was highly entertaining because of its boxing scenes, the presence of Muhammad Ali, the moral story line and the immoral scenes. It's about a boxer who gains fame and fortune, but the fame and fortune get to his head and he has to find his way back.

Leon Isaac Kennedy acted opposite his real life wife. I

(Caution, there's a little bit of nudity in the "immoral" section of the movie).

The final match reminded me of Sugar Ray vs Duran.
