Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: 9/10

I am not one for long reviews, but I'd gladly make an exception for this one.

Now that's how you make a superhero movie. Hats off to this franchise. The consistency of the franchise in delivering top-tier content is very remarkable. Simply put, the trilogy was nothing short of perfect.

Acting was perfect, Chukwudi Iwuji really killed the villian role. Although he played a different role in both, his act was quite satisfactory here in comparison to his act in Peacemaker.

The dialogues were apt and elicited a strong interest that keeps you engaged and makes you invested in the story. The characters were well written. Rockets back story was really emotional and might be teary for some folks.

Music score especially the Orchestra and classical music used were lit. The music score alone earns a solid 4 for me.

Hats off to James Gunn for delivering a thrilling, hilarious and emotional conclusion to this franchise.

Astaghfirullah! DC/WB has the top 3 bombs and 6 movies in the top 10! James Gunn has to find a way to cook a series of wins so if not bankruptcy is not a far stretch thought fr! 😩😩

WB is big na.... They got other divisions to pull money from to make up for the losses and hope future films turn profitable.

Earlier this year when I see an article of David Zaslav pay wey shareholders give am for 2022, about $39mn or so for a good job done, Omo fear catch me. Shey na company wey dem dey talk say dey broke na in dey vote that kind money for new executive.

Prolly money wey dem dey get from HBO and WBTV dey do enough to keep them running. Cos the disastrous flops of last year asides from the Batman and Elvis and the flops this year reach to bring company down to half mast.

Only Paramount wey that kind thing happen to dem nearly Comot from existence and use 5 years before getting to path of recovery. 😂

But funny enough, you still see the company dey undertake projects worth $150-200mn like it's nothing. HOTD na $200mn with S2 prepping for production Q1 2024, TLOU na around $150mn, Aquaman 2 na $220mn+, Joker 2 na $150mn, Batgirl $90mn for an unreleased movie,😂, Dune 2 is $122mn, Wonka — $125mn, Meg 2= $175mn, Furiousa hovers around $150mn and you still have The Batman 2 and Superman Legacy gearing for production next year.

You see these losses and head go begin dey pain you how they afford these largesse for these projects despite their lack of liquidity. WB is probably an entity that fall in the proverbial corporations that are "Too Big To Fail".

I've always loved rocket as a character but to go into his back story and explore his development, and the story being told in the right manner, comedy, drama, action, adventure, sci-fi, omoh.... This movie hit the target. I'll say 10/10 for me sha because there's nothing I could fault.

lol i was joking with the Bankruptcy, a clear hyperbole. WB as a entity makes enough money elsewhere to cover any supposed losses from any part of the conglomerate. But DC has an entity needs to start raking in money soonest for them to be taking seriously

If DC's movies keep bombing, it's a really bad outlook on the brand.

MTN very wicked network, I bought 2gb hourly plan just to download this movie.
The size was just 437 Mb, can you believe that MTN network couldn't download the movie till my 1hr 2gb plan expired.
Airtel wouldn't have done that, lesson learnt.

The movie was really worth the hype. In this era were all the superhero movies we are been served are nothing short of mediocre or even worse, this one was a breath of fresh air and really stood out and delivered on all cylinders.

Don't bother wasting your mb on this one. It wanted to be Lone Survivor, Guy Ritchie's The Covenant and Kandahar all wrapped in one, but failed woefully.

To think that it's 600mb+ size would make it a worthy movie is nothing but wishful thinking. If you've got the mb to spare, you can go ahead and see it. If not, just steer clear.

😁 My brother I just got hooked up on space movies of recent. I barely finish a movie at a siting, most times it takes me 3 days to finish a single movie. But those 4 movies above I rated highly, really captured my attention that I had to sit through the movies for start to finish.

Didn't expect I'd rate an MCU movie this high since we've been fed garbage since phase 4...
But somehow this is the best MCU movie I've seen since End Game
MCU is at its best when it's not doing some garbage multiverse

Anyway I'm not a person who relates well or get attached or even care that much about comic book characters...
And for every Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I always enter it with little care for the characters...

But somehow, while watching GOTG I always end up enjoying and caring for the characters...to show how well above every other current MCU project it is.
More still, I'm not a fan of weird looking characters, but yet I still find myself getting attached to the characters here while I watch the movies

While it's not a perfect movie and it still falls back on some MCU tropes, I think the character writing and the dialogue is great...
The dialogue stands out from the usual cliche MCU dialogue...the jokes land better, the dialogue does not feel cringe... the character relationships feel more realistic...

The music used was also good. Not a fan of songs or scores used in most comic book movies but I genuinely enjoyed this one...

The cinematography and sound editing was so top tier. The scientific accuracy of the sound editing was absolutely genius, probably the best depiction of sound in a space themed movie i have ever seen, knowing sound doesn't travel in space due to no medium to travel with like air, it was perfectly depicted, instead the "no sounds" were interchange with gut wrenching score by Steve Price creating the chilling feeling of agoraphobia and claustrophobia

Absolutely brilliant 👏. It duly won "Best sound editing" at the oscars the following year.

So you'll be getting the full experience in 70mm IMAX 3D - the highest resolution. 😂
