Right now, I'm watching [Movie/Series Title], and I'm really enjoying it! It's [give a short description or plot summary—no spoilers, though!].
Whether it's a Nigerian film, a Hollywood blockbuster, or an anime series, let's hear about what everyone is watching right now! Don’t forget to add a little bit about why you like it so far.
Looking forward to adding some new recommendations to my list. Let’s keep the ball rolling! 🍿
Guy, go ahead and download it. You know koreans aren't held back by the limitations of cookie cutter Hollywood storytelling. They always go balls to the wall with blood and guts galore. It's all about finding entertainment and escapism from your mudane lifestyle, right? It will be a fun watch. I'm not suggesting anything you don't already want to do.
Now this is what you call premium horror storytelling at its PEAK!!
It is intense, gritty, gripping and a chilling take in Asian folk horror. It's a story about a Korean village that starts experiencing weird mürders and chaos when a strange Japanese man starts living with them. A man must do what it takes to save his daughter after she seemingly becomes the next victim and make sense of the whole thing.
It blends different tropes and themes and turns it on its head with shocking twists. Something that turns out being a zombie plague, slowly devolves into a possession story, then a ghost story and then a demonic manifestation with elements of Christianity and Buddhism rolled in, now throw in pristine psychological térror. The result is a perfect blend of some of horrors best tropes held in a tight and complex writing vision. It's the best writing I've seen in a horror movie in a long while.
Its also very ambiguous and confusing as things evolve especially in the third act which I must say is the strongest third act I've seen in horror. This wild tale takes you through Asian folklore, you might miss some things and context if you ain't paying close attention to details. It has the best twist and fine writing the genre has produced.
One thing I love about this movie, is how it took its sweet time on character development on the various characters. Makes it more personal and involved compared to Hollywood. Even the "big bad evil entity" has the best writing and development I've seen the genre produce. The "great evil" also has a personality, a method to the m@dness and not the familiar supernaturally just evil for evil sake I've been used to. The stakes were higher. The editing amplifies the tension to the maximum. It's more refined as this doesn't rely on jumpscares to scare you. It will genuinely creep on you slowly. The cinematography, the sound, the rain, the set, the environment and the air is filled with dread you don't know what to expect. It's unpredictable!
If you're not enmeshed in the horror genre, this will spook you real hard. Especially for a Nigerian with similar traditional or supernatural beliefs. This one promises to really fvvk y'all up.
This is the best horror movie I've ever watched hands down. Bruh, these Asians and their horror films don't joke and don't dwell on overused tropes unlike Hollywood. Asian horror are superior to Hollywood horror movies. It's probably in TV shows I can say Hollywood turns up big.
Don't know why I been sleeping on this film for years. This is a MASTERPIECE!! Automatically one of my favourite horror films, if not the ONE. One of the few films where I wholeheartedly embraced the long runtime.

No be me and you Wyatt sicks is enough horror for me bro.
oyaskii: I was randomly going through YT, and i bumped into this, and i clocked that, Scar totally cooked with "Be Prepared" 😩😩.
"It's clear from your vacant expressions The lights are not all on upstairs But we're talking kings and successions Even you can't be caught unawares"
Like what the hell? Brother Scar was a visionary and a damn good poet fgs 😩
Them Hyenas better than me, I would have be at the front line after the first verse, to topple Mufasa.
Scar is such an Iconic Disney villain, the devilish aura was off the charts 😬
I love to see Chiwetel in the cast of a movie I'm watching but I knew even he could not top what Jeremy Irons did with Scar in the animated. Bro completely understood and delivered the assignment

Still yet to see "The Lion King" (2019) but there are some all timer roles, you see, and just know no one is ever replicating it.
When i think of Scar, i immediately envision Jeremy Irons' voice... that's how iconic it was

Saw this trailer yesterday but was uninterested and ignored... feeling it might be way too auteur and probably overlooked.
Saw it again just now and I finally clicked the play button cos of A24 and the really weird movie title and I'm pretty convinced......this is one to watch out for. It's an African production and will probably be competing for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars next year. Also interesting is the fact it won the Cannes Uncertain Regard Award. Really looks like a genuine African story.
I'm also biased for this as this happens to be produced by a company I earlier worked with this year. Glad they're involved in interesting projects such as this and might be in this for the long haul. I must watch this.
