You guys should take it easy with the Op. Anyone could fall a victim to such ploys maybe not with phones. He may not be that phone savvy... I almost fell into the same situation. A guy brought a supposed galaxy note 2 for 12k. The phone bore all semblance to the original one. I had made calls that cash be withdrawn and brought so I can pay for it. When I was done with what I was doing. I told the guy to bring the phone so I could feel it while waiting for the money to arrive. It was there that I knew it was chinko. The physical appearance of the phone was exactly like the original. Bottom line is that cheap things are not worth it. If it's good, it is worth paying for.

Hello Juliet, Posting this here is GOOD, but I believe reporting it to the nearest police station would be BETTER.

Was it really Awoof?

what was going through your mind when you bought?

were you not thinking how lucky you were to be buying a stolen phone?

Bought an I phone 4s last year from a lady her husband was in Germany. Said the husband brought it back for her from Germany and that she was selling because her kids were rough and bla bla bla bla. Bottom line l paid 40k for a chinko. When I couldn't download videos, push email, and a crappy camera, I knew I've been ****ed. Na better shop I run go this on after then

Hehehe. My brother in-law bought his for 10k by roadside. The ringtone is so annoying & of course it didn't even last long. He finally gave it to his daughter who turned it to her game phone.

tushd: Was going home that night from school - I school in unilag nd i stay at ipaja - I took a bus going to iyana ipaja. Immediately I got down, I saw some boys selling phones by the road side. I heard {someone say} samsung s3 - my sweet. I asked how much, they said 27k. I was like "ehen, 27k keh?" e cheap die. As per sharp guy wey i think say i be, I quickly price it to 20k. The guys were like no, the last price is 23. I begged and they asked me to bring the 20k. Out of my school fees for the next session, I quickly went to the ATM and withdrew the money.

I paid for the phone. Before I got home, I already called my peeps that I got an s3. They were like "badt guy na u o". When I got home, my pals saw the phone, they looked at me and started laughing. I was like, "whats the matter?" All I heard was "guy dis fone na chinko?" I almost cried. I should have bought a Tecno. I went there the next day. The guys that sold the phone were no longer there.

Anyone who has a functioning brain that contains enough brain cells, wont buy phone from touts by the road side. This shows that being educated doesn't always guarantee common sense.
Common sense can be inborn or developed. For now, it is evident you lack it.
