Well, what I'll say is this:
Most of us here are applicants, so, I'm not sure anyone of us really have an idea how the MasterCard Committee go about awarding scholarships.

But, I think somewhere along this thread, I guess either last year or early this year, someone said he was nominated by the department to apply, and he was on 2:1 (I don't have any idea of his CGPA), although I can't say if he eventually got the scholarship at the end.

So, maybe you should just apply, after all, you're not paying a dime to anyone.

The most important thing is to get admitted, because that's the only way anyone would be awarded the scholarship.

But, it's still your decision.

That's all I can say.

Well;
A personal statement is more or less a short essay where you tell the admissions committee why you're interested in a particular graduate programme, the kind of work you plan on doing when you're there, and why you in particular should be doing that work.
