2014/2015 ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR
FRESH UTME AND DIRECT ENTRY STUDENTS
The Orientation Programme is one of the traditional
activities put in place to mark the beginning of
each academic session at the University of Lagos.
It is designed to acquaint fresh students with the
university policies and practices, give necessary
information about life and work at the university,
the personnel, places, as well as the rules and
regulations, which guide their stay both in the
faculties and Halls of Residence.
The programme features selected lectures on
relevant topics. Freshers will also meet Principal
Officers, Deans of Faculties, Directors and Heads of
Departments.
The programme will run in two sessions
concurrently. To facilitate this, all freshers have
been grouped into two as follows:
Group 1
i. Faculty of Arts
ii. Faculty of Business Administration
iii. Faculty of Pharmacy
iv. Faculty of Science
v. College of Medicine
Group 2
i. Faculty of Law
ii. Faculty of Environmental Sciences
iii. Faculty of Social Sciences
iv. Faculty of Engineering
v. Faculty of Education
While one group attends orientation lectures, the
second group will be on campus tour and vice
versa. The take-off point for the campus tour is
the frontage of the Main Auditorium.
The programme has been scheduled to hold from
Monday 19th January, 2015 – Sunday 25th
January, 2015
Details of the programme are as follows:
Day 1 - Monday, 19th January, 2015 at the Main
Auditorium - Orientation lecture and Campus tour
DAY 2 - Tuesday, 20th January, 2015 at the Main
Auditorium – Orientation lecture and Library tour
Day 3 - Wednesday, 21st January, 2015 at Multi-
Purpose Halls ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ – Orientation lecture
and Campus tour
(Faculty Orientation in various Faculties)
Day 4 - Thursday, 22nd January, 2015 –
Orientation Novelty Match at Sports Centre.
Day 5 - Friday, 23rd January, 2015 - Multi-
Purpose Halls ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’
Grand Finale; Breakfast with Principal Officers of
the University at 9.00 a.m.
Matriculation Ceremony at 11.30 a.m.
Special Jumat Service for Muslim freshers at the
University of Lagos Mosque at 1.00 p.m.
Day 6 – Sunday, 25th January, 2015 – Special
Worship Service for Christian freshers at the
University of Lagos Chapel

Yes yes yes! very very very! u can't graduate without it.

can 100l students take extra courses (apart from those listed in the prospectus)

medicals- all u need do is take urself, ur medical form and bio data (skool fees receipt if need be) to the medical center, u'll b given some forms to fill (about 4 of em- red, green, xray cardand white, medical form included) fill d med form. 1st stage- go for ur weight and height test. 2nd- blood and urinanalysis. 3rd- xray (get ur xray card first, den u'll be given an appointment. 4th- eye test. 5th- blood pressure. 6th- submission (u'll c d doctor, drop ur forms and an hospital file/card will be opened for ya). mind u, dey r strict with tym, so u gotta be dere on or before 8am for whatsoever u wanna do. the duration for d medicals all depends on u, punctuality matters. also its open for fresher's on Monday, wed and fridays.

for d course reg, ur course adviser signs d form.

the library should be open, holiday issover
