I don't seem to understand all this tecno bashing thread, Why not let tecno be. There is no way 20k worth of phone will match an 80k phone. The price alone should tell you what you are getting. By the way i don't use tecno before una tag me a tecno fan what am trying to say is that for example you went to buy a sealed oil for your car and you are given 2 same brands of oil and same size but different prices, common sense should tell you there must be a difference. The reason why so many tecno users are disappointment is because they bought the tecno phone expecting to get same features of a Samsung phone. To the average mobile phone user, Tecno is really worth it but for those that has been on smartphone for years, tecno is not up to standard.

True life story
I wss one of the people waiting for Tecno to give a better battery n camera to their Tab but when they released the A3 with the camera n battery I was looking for, and i saw the price, i told myself that there is no point waiting. I got the cheaper Tab

Bottom line.
If you can afford all the bells n blings of a S4 or HTC or Xperia then go for it and stop comparing C class Benz that can take you to Lagos with a Corolla that can do same at cheaper price

•Tecno Phones Have No Special Features : Yes Your phones have no special features!. Your phones are not water and dust proof , they dont have gorilla glass , worst of all they dont even have OTA upgrade!. Tell me , which of your phones can you compare to :

We've heard lots about samsung creating a smartphone with a curved screen , creating wristwatches that acts and performs the same functions as a phone and we're even hearing about samsung's plan to create a 'foldable display' phone in 2014. However , we havent heard about any ongoing technological projects from tecno. I know you might want to say your company is still 'growing' but the truth is that the rate in which technology is advancing , you have to up your game or else you get kicked out of the market. I'm not suprised about the kinds of phones you produce because thats what is expected from a stagnant company like yours.

•Your Devices Lack OTA Upgrade: a lot has been said about tecno phones lacking the ability to upgrade it operating system. Am really suprised that nothing has been done about this. Is it that you guys dont have capable engineers to fix this or what Any reasonable company that values its customers would have found a solution to this but i'm really suprised that nothing has been done so far.

BBM now works on android but my friend's tecno d3 cant use BBM because he cant upgrade his phone's operating system. To me , thats total crap and i'ld rather not use a phone at all than to buy a tecno android.

Seen a lot of rubbish talk here and to be Frank, I reckon most of the anti tecno fans here are young immature boys that don't really know what life is all about. Why on earth will a man that works hard for his money buy something at an outrageous price when He can get it at a cheap e'er price? Is it the ape glass I wan chop or the expensively assembled body parts. Abeg make these boys dress go one side first.

I also saw some comment about tecno being used by boys. Well, all I can say is you have a very myopic sense of reasoning or maybe you don't l Iive in this country. I have seen very wealthy people using tecno and they are mature men, not boys. These are people that work hard for their money and know the laws of being economical.

For that price, the best u can get is gionee p2...jst got mine days OK...cool piece I must say...dual-core,5mp camera,hspa+ ,4.5" multi touch screen...512ram...expandable

There is something most people don't understand about techno;
Techno doesn't manufacture those phones. This is what happens; there are companies usually Chinese and Taiwanese, whose sole business is manufacturing (they are called Original Equipment Manufacturers). These companies are contracted by popular names (LG, Samsung, etc) to manufacture some parts of their products for them. Sometimes, they go as far as assembling these products from start to finish, but must be to the contractor's (LG, Samsung etc) specification. These OEMs have what it takes to supply to and assemble for anyone who is ready to pay.
What techno has done is just to approach one of those OEMs to produce and assemble from the bulk of their manufactured parts and brand them 'techno'. Techno hardware can run on OS installed on it, but won't be able to upgrade why? It is most likely not paying the required royalty to the owner of the OS. google owns android, one of the reasons their phones are cheap. Google techno and u realise it's limited to few African countries. if it was a true oyinbo company, they would be on gsmarena or have outlets other than Africa.
I know this coz, I'm in the line of business too. A lot of manufacturing happens in china and everyone is cashing in on the cheap products from that country. Don't blame techno, the ibo guy don realise Sey naija people like cheap things and he has brought you what you want at a cost of course. It's just business
