Its base on the course you go for. You may score 68 and you chose medicine and he score 50 and chose biology. He may be merit admitted but you may not.

ELDS policy or state of origin must have been played,,, otherwise his jamb score gap urs and he had been considered for the course than u......I also experienced a couple of 60agg getting optometry instead of med and I gap the person in putme but I was swept from med to faculty of physical science to offer industrial chemistry. so don't panic any of the above policy must had been played.....
