The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has led its Anambra state governorship candidate in the last election, Nov 16,2013 Comrade Tony Nwoye to file a petition at the election tribunal to challenge the verdict of the election. Comrade Nwoye stated this in Awka yesterday during an interactive session with select

stakeholders representing the twenty-one (21) local government areas of the state .

The confident sounding candidate who was also full of praises for what he described as strong backing of the Bamangar Tukur-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, disclosed that the need to challenge the election verdict has become imperative because the whole world attest to the fact that the governorship election was fraught with bare-faced administrative and political fraud and open manipulations.

Nwoye got a standing ovation of the stakeholders when he disclosed that the party from the national, zone and state chapters have decided to appeal the election verdict as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, contrary to the initial speculations that the PDP will not go to court over the governorship election.

The flagbearer expressed optimism that his party would upstage the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) just like Governor Peter Obi displaced Ngige and Uba through the instruementality of the court to hold on to power since 2006.

He commended the party faithful for giving a good account of themselves and come second in the election not minding the high level of conspiracy and distractions that made the party campaign for just two weeks before the election.

He also praised President Goodluck Jonathan and national leadership of the party for their support during the election.

Comrade Tony Nwoye bemoaned that the PDP would have been an orphan in Anambra state if not for the support of President Goodluck Jonathan , Engr Authur Eze and some other individuals.

Comrade Nwoye expressed doubt over the capability of the Anambra state Independent Electoral Commission to conduct a free and fair council poll for the state. He based his claims on alleged fraud that fraught the governorship election.

- How can we also accept a result where INEC's Jega confirmed that APGA paid an election officer to make sure Ngige's stronghold did not get any material?
- How about the fact that APGA's WillyWilly has 3 voters card?

The Nov. 16th election in Anambra remains the worst election in the history of Nigeria. APC demands a total cancellation.
