Governor Rotimi Amaechi or Rivers State is well-known for being quite an emotional speaker, sometimes making unexpected and interesting statements. His eloquent speech at the recent rally in Port Harcourt became no exception. See TOP 10 of Governor Amaechi’s most incredible statements made at the rally: 1. You must know that if you read the story of revolution, you must sacrifice. Somebody said my son should come to the front. If you want my son tomorrow, I will produce him. 2. If I have surrendered myself and I am ready to be in front, let them shoot. 3. I have challenged the President that I belong to APC. If he wants me back in PDP, let him return the oil wells to the Kalabari people and I will come back. 4. One of our sons, a Kalabari son, said the oil wells were taken under Rufus Ada-George. Tell him I say he is lying. 5. If a Southsouth President refused to give you water, you will push him out. 6. If it is the President, I can understand, because the President has not served in any international organisation, but what about the woman (Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala), whose job it is to sign off, to give the water project. 7. She wants you (Rivers people) to die of water-borne diseases, in the name of politics. Holy Ghost fire. 8. I was there. He did said them. He had to stop, but the crowd keep urging him to continue. To be frank, his speech thrilled the crowd that were tired of all those APC leaders speeches. There is still charisma whenever he speaks cos he does say it them without refining. I was aside the stadium, when he climbed the podium to speak, I think he was the last speaker. Amaechi has always been a yeye talker which belittles his exalted position as a governor though he says his mind but as someone in a public position, he should learn to spice his words so as to pass his message while still being politically correct (too late). I remember a couple of months back he spoke at an event in Ekiti state when he suddenly started his notorious ramblings, Fashola was on stage near him & the condescending look Fashola gave him made me to be ashamed of Amaechi. There has to be a difference between a thug and an office holder at all times. 1 Like |
