The Commercial Launch of 3.5G

Towards the end of 2007, MTN officially introduced 3.5G technology, another first in the industry, drawing the technological future several years closer to our customers.

This technology is TEN times faster than the existing 3G technology, enabling our customers to work and play faster, in a quicker more innovative way, giving them the extra edge they require to stay ahead!

A commercial launch of the services available on this technology will take place on 5 August. This event will serve as a precursor of a whole new world of high speed internet access and downloads for MTN customers at the most affordable rates ever! Services like High Speed Internet access through MTN Internet Data Cards and USB modems, Video Calling and Video Camera; which allows customers to view their homes and offices by calling into the device.

The highlight of the event will be a practical demonstration of the services available and how these will enhance the lifestyles of our customers.
