Nigerian Customs service increased duty payable thus with an aim of discouraging importation of used vehicles and encourage patronage of the virtually non existing locally Manufactured(Assembled) ones.

can custom be disturbing after a car has been cleared, delivered and sold, over signing of sss, ciu and ndlea. I sold a car tokuboh to somebody since may, he was calling me now that custom waylaid him on the road that they did not sign sss, ciu and ndlea on examination sheet. Pls your advice. BC iam going to custom office at Ibadan tomorrow to drag it with them. Cheers

If the said new owner has been left off the hook then i do advise you remove the unsigned examination form from the docs with him to avoid future similar problem.
If the said vehicles has been taken to their Office by Secretariat in Ibadan then i do advise you to take things easy so the vehicle can be gotten back without much stress.
The assumption is that the clearing agent did a bad job thus why those agencies signatures were not appended.
Formally/officially,a container cant come out of a terminal without it been signed by the aforementioned agencies.

NOTE - Not all cars cleared and delivered to its importer are "CLEARED" OR "DULY CLEARED" thus the agent that cleared this particular container won't show up when called upon cos he short paid customs duty.

The bone of contention now is that examination sheet ( sss, ndlea and ciu) was not signed.
This is a normal job without short payment
