President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Mr Ibrahim Waziri to replace Hamman Tukur as TCN chairman.  A statement signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Anyim Pius Anyim said the appointment takes effect from December 24.
Waziri was a Group Executive Director, Corporate Service at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) between 2003 and 2009. He also served as a member of the Federal Government Technical Committee on Expenditure Review that advised the government on enhancing value of overhead expenditure and reducing waste in government spending.

My dear it will be very unwise to think a 2months old privatisation will cure a 50yrs old decay,...lets been logical here,....its not a matter of abuses,....Electricity is not air,....Its has basic components,...you need to build it,....Our power sector has been stagnant for 30yrs,....No new power plants,No new distribution infrastructure,,,,Dead transmission network,....It will be very wicked to think a two month privatisation will solve it,....Am speaking from an Engineering point of view my dear,.....If we will have 18hrs light nationwide in 5yrs time then we must do the following,...complete at least 3power plant yearly,...build at least 600kilometers of transmision lines nation wide yearly,...Get a new Grid,and invest at least 2billion dollars in our distribution network,....and so far GEJ is the only one that has done something close to that my dear
