SUPREMACY BATTLE:APC Crisis Worsens As Old Members Clash With Defected Governors by kalunomics(m): 11:37pm On Jan 04, 2014 |
The rift between old members of the All Progressives Congress, APC and newly defected governors from the ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP has deepened with both sides battling for the control of APC structures in Sokoto, Kano, Kwara and Adamawa states. The original members of the APC are opposing attempt by the defected governors to take over the APC structures while the defectors, on the other hand, are insisting on a takeover, describing it as part of their conditions for defection to the APC. According to findings, the defected governors have resorted to various strategies to assert their control over the party. More so, both Governors Rabiu Kwankwaso and Aliu Wamakko had succeeded in recruiting to their sides some strong supporters of former Governors Attahiru Bafarawa and Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau. Governor Kwankwaso was reported to have got to his sides members of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change while members of the defunct All Nigerian People's Party have so far remained loyal to Mallam Shekarau. According to report, Kwankwaso and Shekarau are not on talking terms and Wamakko and Bafarawa have not had any direct contact since the defection. The same situation is reported to be happening in Kwara State between the Saraki caucus and the Dele Belgore group even though it was learnt that the Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, is putting pressure on his friend, Belgore. In Adamawa State, the resistance to Governor Murtala Nyako had become an open confrontation as General Buba Marwa is quoted as vowing to resist Nyako's takeover of the party. However, the interim leadership under Chief Bisi Akande is said to have responded to the escalating infighting by setting up a peace committee which is yet to resolve the crisis. I made a thread saying this will happen and it was laughed at. Nobody will establish a party, spend their LIFE and money fighting PDP, to have a PDP governor that was lambasting their party and name and stagnating their progess leave PDP and join that party you invested in then demand you bow to him or get out of his way while he 'leads' the party he spent is political carrier oppressing. 1 Like |

Every mouth that places curse on gentle and soft "though too soft" GEJ shall live to regret it. The young man is just being himself and can never be someone else's. This is just the beginning, APC will definitely meet their waterloo |

APC is not a disciplined party. They are not united in spirit. They are just power mongers. That' why they battle for power, supremacy and wealth in their various states. All they want is to remove PDP from power, they dont care about the masses, more like they care about their own generations to come. APC constitutes PDP. I am not surprised, have been awaiting this, me thinks PDP members were assimilated into APC as PDP molls and the APC crisis is the targeted effect. |

I certainly had no interest in anything called PDP until a worse than PDP emerged. I have always known that beyond their wide-eyed hypocrisy and open-face pretence, APC's major undoing will be their complete lack of any internal democracy. They hand picked Ngige by hook or crook and there are yet more hand-pickings on the way. I am fully aware that such crude and uncouth strategies can never survive long in a tribal party going national. If Asiwajus Puppet Crew can not set up and preserve internal democracy at party level, then they certainly cannot guarantee external democracy at the national level. How could you hand over the party structures in a whole State to a single person? And you expect the rest to look on and concur with the half-smile of a demented weirdo? Autocracy, you would call it. Its not just about CHANGE. Its more about CHARACTER! If APC must become that formidable force that will scarce PDP out of Aso Rock, they must get serious and work on their party structure. My one cent. . . . . Oh boy, wait oh..... (Looks into my Onyokometer) I can actually see GEJ's attack lion, Doyin Okupe, bristling with the satisfaction of a self-styled prophet whose calculated guesses came true. . . . No mind am... Agbaya.... Any politically sincere and forward-thinking Nigerian would have seen this coming. |
