By : GSAINT 2013 was a year of many turbulences for Nigeria. There was serious security issues, some economic breakthroughs and in politics, was a melodrama of non stop action till the very season of open letters.
As a young Nigerian, politics mattered very little to me with music and entertainment taking the better of my interest untill 2013 when politics was obviously the most entertaining gig. During this time i read lots of news items from both indigenous and foreign media, i followed political threads, read comments infact nairaland politics section was my new handout. Guess what, my political naivity was murdered i was blessed with new enlightenment that evaded me all these while.
Before 2013 i was a critic of Obj nigeria's ex-presido. My reasons were he never developed democracy infact his tenure was very autocratic with lots disregard for the rule of law. Even though he recorded some successes in certain aspects but that didn't buy him my respect. Yar adua came and he got my sympathy

fellow nairaland politicians follow me as we navigate the murky waters of the Nigerian political scene. The game plan in their ultimate quest for power.
winkwink

Yar adua respected the law in my opinion, although most of became frustrated for serious go-slow in putting the economics and infracstructure together, i still respect. His demise saw Goodluck Jonathan as the next presido in great nation. I voted for him and i know most nigerians voted for him. After three years into his presidency, most of us who voted begin to wonder wheather we had made the wrong choice among us is the notorious god father to the president Obj.
Although this 'matter-for-ground' is very intricate and complex as to why and how has our presido failed us?
His economic agenda and some other sector is kind of paying of but something is lacking.
Obj has ruled nigeria as military and as civilian he has mastered the act of power he has developed in the game of power and control he is now a grand commander in the act. To this fact i dofe my hat and i give him respect. I would say he is such an inspiration to us who crave power despirately.

One of many truth i was able to acquire is the Correllation between a successful leader and a good player in the realm of power: little wonder our golden Boy ''Jona'' have been fumbling and stumbling in the past three years which tends to be severe as 2015 approaches. From the little we know about our presido, he has not been the best of a leader always coming from the back as secound fiddle to handle the leadership position therefore he is a novice in the game of power play but a lot is still to come in this drama.
I decided to role back to the times of Obj as commander-in-chief in the Nigerian armed forces and his methods were very impressive. He played according to the rule book in the game of power which made my resentment of him look a childs joke.
The 48 laws of power by Robert Green would be our guide as we analyze Obj's performance

according to law 45 in power play guidelines
* 45: Preach the Need for Change But Never Reform Too Much at Once....
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 10:10pm On Jan 08, 2014
1. The man who initiates strong reforms often becomes the scapegoat for any kind of dissatisfaction. 2. Eventually the reaction to your reforms may consume you, for change is upsetting to the human animal, even when it is for the good.
So you now see why even after the terrifying Abacha regime, all Nigerians like myself who thought the messiah have finally arrived were disappointed..... ''format''
Moving on, many people even my dad still thinks Obj is the best thing to happen to nigeria. Why? Simple he brought mobile communication to nigeria. Honestly it has affected Nigeia in more positive ways than one. But is it another calculated attempt or perharps unconsciouse move making his presidency a wonder? Your guess is as good as mine
*Law 12: Use Selective Honesty and Generosity to Disarm Your Victim.
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 11:43pm On Jan 08, 2014
Learn to give before you take. It softens the ground, takes the bite out of a future request, or simply creates a distraction. And the giving can take many forms: an actual gift, a generous act, a kind favor, an "honest" admission—whatever it takes.
Give a gift. Few people can resist a gift, even from the most hardened enemy, which is why it is often the perfect way to disarm people. A gift brings out the child in us, instantly lowering our defenses. Although we often view other people's actions in the most cynical light, we rarely see the Machiavellian element of a gift, which quite often hides ulterior motives. A gift is the perfect object in which to hide a deceptive move.
We are all familiar with the popular phrase credited to Obj politics is a 'do or die affair' power corrupts and intoxicates people and i am sure Obj as a renowed pro in the game of power must understand the ecstacy that comes with being the ultimate man, aha! Goodluck aka Jona must currently be very high from the influence
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 12:22am On Jan 09, 2014
Now back to the boss; Obj during his time had lots of enemies which is not particularly unusuall and yet again he handled them just like Messi would do the learther football.
*Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally.

Does any one know of James Ibori, lucky igbenedion, alamiesegha (na me give am the name?), Bode George, and other ex convicts or escapess? Don't be surprised..... Baba iyabo is a master in the game. He must have loved kanye west's hit single 'power'
All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.
There is twist here and i give it to Baba he is just good.

The name EFCC strikes terror to the heart of many nigerian politicians.
The anti-corruption agency was the ingenuity of the master himself Obj. Its a fact that large percentage of nigerians in my opinion 100% are corrupt even worse among the politicians. So you see Efcc was not set up to fight corruption, a sound and well structured judiciary would have done better. But with efcc their was flexibilty and this dependency on the president which was the perfect tool to discipline enemies or even destroy and annihilate them without it seeming like a personal thing.

If there is something unpleasant or unpopular that needs to be done, it is far too risky for you to do the work yourself. You need a cat's-paw— someone who does the dirty, dangerous work for you. The cat's-paw grabs what you need, hurts whom you need hurt, and keeps people from noticing that you are the one responsible. Let someone else be the executioner, or the bearer of bad news, while you bring only joy and glad tidings
nuhu ribadu was a good public servant but unfortunately he was just a tool in Baba's hand.
Many politicians cried that they were been victimised but it was incomprehensible for a corrupt person to be crying foul. I do not support corruption neither do i think efcc is next best thing after razor blade.

Episode 2: the Gej goof

Baba Iyabo having presided Nigeria for eight years under 2-term arrangement, he stand as nigeria's most successful leader of not in terms of development.

Goodluck jonathan as the current president have failed countless times using the same rule book which Baba had succeded with.
* the alleged agreement that said he will not sit for re-election. I am sure he must have made such arrangement, but whether or not he made such arrangement
under law 12: using selective honesty and generosity, ''When you have a history of deceit behind you, no amount of honesty, generosity, or kindness will fool people''
GEJ should have pretended to honor the agreement even untill the eleventh hour. He should have kept his word even though he has other intentions.
Its a negative image to be percieved as one who does not keep to his promises. I am not saying he should not contest for another term but the least he could have done was pretend otherwise.
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 11:41am On Jan 09, 2014
* the boko haram effect: since the rise of the islamist group in north east nigeria with an agenda to ground to a halt our democratic government, our government have suffered and yet again Goodluck Jonathan have repeatedly shown his amaturish stature in the power play game.
There have never been a more better opportunity to curry the favor and support of the northerners and to show off his skill as a leader.
''Law 14: pose as a friend, work as a spy''
comes very handy. Since 2010 bombs after bombs go off periodically in the North killing and maiming people in their dozens but ironically rarely have we seen the southern president visit or pay condolences in person in the violence ridden states of Borno, Adamawa etc.
This posture assumed by the president Goodluck Jonathan does not signify friendship at all. His distance is causing more harm than Good to himself the president... Little wonder why most northern politicians have flocked to the oposition.
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 7:14pm On Jan 09, 2014
Boko haram may have been an instrument by some few northern elite politicians to discredit Gej's performance against 2015. If Goodluck had physically been able to sympatize and share in the grieve with the victim of these mayhem, the northern strategist would have failed with back fired plan staring at them in the face. Because he has been able to secure the sympathy of the ordinary common man in the north who can not be manipulated against the president because they saw him as one of them sharing the same pain with them.

The president should have sent reliefs and aids personally to the victims. He should have genuinely or ingenuinly aligned with these terrorist victims: i dont mean like officially making a statement from Abuja..... Manipulate the eternal emotional weakness of man and buy their undying support and love. Draw close to them. Visit them constantly.. All those unneccesary foreign travels to kenya and all that would have paid better had it been invested in the north.
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 12:24am On Jan 10, 2014
Secondly GEJ. Seem to disobey the 30 law in our book.

''Law 30: Make your accomplishment seem effortless''
Every day we are disturbed with never ending song by the federal government how the rate of insecurity is high in the country, how boko haram and pipeline vandals seem to be smarter than our honorable officers, how the cost for security is almost wiping out our annual budget including the boring difficulties faced by the military. While all these are very crucial points but they should not be for public consumption whether freedom of information or not... FOI can only apply in the face of good news or not-too-bad news but the critical ones that can cause public panic should hidden not only from the public, but from the foreign scene.
The nigerians mass media is not helping issues when we tend to see more people killed by the boko boys than the Nigerian military. You can imagine the kind of motivation the sect would get when they see thousands of people they killed on NTA.
Re: Obasanjo Vs Goodluck Jonathan, Apc Vs Pdp, The Nigerian Game Of Power by rej00: 9:20am On Jan 10, 2014
From my study it is strategically a bad move from the GEJ presidency to allow such negative news items dominate the media.
If you like call it ''abuse to freedom of the press'' but needful is to (COVERTLY) censor the media. Some information should not be published. Especially those highlighting the success of the terrorist organisation.
One of the most embarrasing example is the boko haram leader shekau leader claiming to defy death.
Nobody is arguing their ingenuity but if shekau wants to brag it should not be shown by our own indigenous media.
The sole aim of the publicity is to creat panic thereby undermining the achievment of the president in the fight againt terrorism. So logically the president should control the press on issues of boko haram and terrorism and this control must be discreet. Consider china, even in more liberal states, damaging information is controlled.
Don't show your weakness to people rather show strength and you will attract more admirers and helper will throng to your doorstep
