FA Cup...........why? by Chimex388: 1:48pm On Jan 09, 2014 |
Did any one notice the kind of ball used for the FA CUP? Why does it have to b played with a pink-like beach ball? Why do teams nowbdays field more of dier "Team B"squad in the oldest & club competition in the world? The FA cup is the most priced competiton isnt it? Is the pioneer competition-FA CUP loosing its value in England? Does the FA cup really take pride in the cup as the clubs & players? SUGGESTIONS FOR ALL KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS Taking a cue from Mancity Vs westham Anyway, now West Ham are 6-0 down to City and facing the prospect of a home return leg in which absolutely nobody, surely, anywhere in the world, has any interest whatsoever: either in watching it or participating in it. People will say: it's football - anything can happen. But it's not football. It's West Ham. Under Sam Allardyce. Six goals adrift. To Manchester City. Needing to win 7-0, then. Or 6-0 to take the game into extra time with the possibility of penalties. Let's be serious. Even if West Ham change their manager in the meantime, and get one of those famous 'new-boss boosts', there is simply no way on earth that this tie is coming back. Clearly, then, my 'optional second leg' notion, conceived in jest, is an idea whose time has come. All of this could be avoided if the team that's losing after the first leg had the option to call the second leg off, say 'Thanks, but we're done here', shake hands and go home. The world of football is always complaining about fixture congestion. Here's a pain-free way to relieve at least the most needless part of the blockage. Make the second leg a matter of choice. Still feel you're in with a shout? Play on. 6-0 down to City? Call it quits reference & culled from www.chelseafc.com |
