Bayelsa State Government has accused Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, of distorting the facts on Soku oil wells to blackmail President Goodluck Jonathan. The state government also accused Amaechi, who recently defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), of using Soku to incite the Kalabaris, in Rivers State, against their Nembe kinsmen in Bayelsa.

A statement by Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, said the controversy on Soku had long been resolved by the Supreme Court, National Boundary Commission (NBC) and several presidential committees.

We all know the truth. It wasn't even President GEJ that ceded the Wells to Bayelsa state but the Fed. High Court even before GEJ was president. The Rivers state Govt. went to the Supreme court and they upheld the judgement of the High Court. More over, the boundary commission in a letter dated sometime in 2004 (the SA MEDIA read it this morning on ray power's Political Platform programme) said that when they used GPS to check the position of these oil wells, they all fell into Nembe LGA which is in Bayelsa State. Gov. Amaechi should stop playing cheap political points with this story. He is running out of lies before 2015. What has his administration done for this people if he says it is part of Rivers state. Enough of this oil politics.
