congrats to Nigeria It wasnt easy but at least the guys tried sha. imo, Nigeria had better control of the ball. The Argentinians were mainly doing long kicks. Though that could also be important. that Messi sef. |

We tried jo. Shame on all of you already criticizing the boys. That's why athletes and soccer players run from Nigeria. Some people just want only perfection,as if its easy. The Eaglets did unexpectedly well, and a silver medal's good. Besides we were beaten by Argentina. Better than losing a final to China, or the US |

dont blame Vansekin jooooo, that was the best he could do, any goal keeper would have done the same. one on one, e easy. credit to Di maria, beautiful goal. Messi nice passs. |

It is over, but at least we got a silver. Sad that Siasia would be disappointed losing twice in a role at finals in World stage, to Argentina His wits against Baptista, a World cup winner, didn't come out top. But he has made a mark and I hope that this side (with him as coach), are retained for SA 2010. The commentator's comment a injury time that "the Super Eaglets are grounded" was quite apt. The difference in having an Anichebe instead of an Obasi was quite clear. Things just didn't work out Promise and Okoronkwo didn't really get off. After the first 40mins of promise, something left our team and the Argentines gegan to swagger around with confidence. But we were really quite optimistic as patriots. What did we expect playing another appropriately disciplined side that matched us talent for talent, and with Riquelme plus players from Barca, Liverpool, Athetico Madrid, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich etc. . . |

This is the most annoying game I've ever seen. We played better but give up a stupid, silly goal and what's more we blundered many chances. We just can't finish! The jaga jaga goalkeeper was never tested at all despite so many chances we created. I'm so ticked right now with our boys for their lack of finishing. Sooo many wasted chances. |

Re: Nigeria (0) - Argentina (1) In 2008 Olympics Final by subice(m): 7:02am On Aug 23, 2008 |
folahann: Exactly, and we had didn't do well with the chances we had. We let our concentration slip and were punished. Shame Obasi was injured. The boys did well though, considering the quality they were up against. You're talking about almost half a team with Champions league/European Cup experience. Guys like Adeleye and Kaita deserve a lot of encouragement. |
