who the cap\ fit! please don't make it club vs club case. give your prediction in these order 1st, 2nd, 3rd for the world and for the african footballer of the year. the result of this polls will be sent to BBC football polls with these caption: NAIRALAND FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR.
Avoid sentiment! Also Can Capello take ENGLAND to the promise land? can marcello LIPPI repeat victory for ITALY.

We are still in August. 2008 still has four months left. October/November would have been the best time to start the nomination.

Unfortunately, there has not been any consistently outstanding player this year unlike the years of Ronaldo, Zidane,Ronaldinho and even Kaka last year.Despite the Champions league, Euro, ANC, Olympics, and other competitions held this year, there has not been any outstanding performer that will be so glaring that almost every football follower will agree that he's indisputably the best. During Ronaldinho years, it was always very glaring.

Well, based on January-August 2008, I go like this:

WORLD:
1, Messi
2, C. Ronaldo
3, Torres

AFRICA:
1,Adebayor
2,Muntari
3,Yakubu

Regular nominees, Drogba and Essien have not had particularly outstoanding year.
