I thought Yoruba people are educated, I thought they have the power of biro and speech which I believe are some of the instruments any enlightened society can lay hands on while politicking. Why the gruesome murder of fellow politicians as have been recorded in the South West since inception of Nigeria? See Bola Ige, Funsho Williams, Dipo and so many others Should it be termed an act of cowardice? Abeg yoruba people make una dey CIVILIZED, if not Obama for don kill Hilary Clinton or Bush killing Obama. Ds is Terrorism by yoruba people. Make una take time and not add more fire inside fire wey dey 4 Naija already. |

Mkpotu: They are operating in a country without police, hence the killings. They know no one is going to hold them accountable. |

aieromon: May be the babalawo who did the juju for him has a hand in it. I'll say they find him first. What is it with all these politicians and juju?. The other Ekiti guy killed this way had bullet proof juju yet they clubbed him to death. Gbenga Daniel's attorney who was assassinated last month allegedly jazzed himself up yet they got him cheap. People, the devil cannot protect you. Turn to Jesus and know peace. |

arkinses: If I am investigating this case, Gbenga Daniels will be the last suspect on my mind. Ask yourself why he should kill a man he beat in the polls before?. Dipo was never successful as a politician but he was trying his best. Gbenga Daniels also have the power of incumbency which will give him at least 10% edge over any AC opponent coupled with his gangster PDP party which will also give him another 10% edge. The first suspects here should be his fellow AC rivals who wants to pick the Ogun State guber ticket for their party and not Gbenga Daniels who has nothing really to gain from this guy's death. I am not a supporter of Gbenga Daniel's o before you guys haul stones at me but if you look at this issue very well, you will find out that he is the last person who will desire him dead. It's like Obama plotting to assassinate McCain. Does that make sense to you?. Let the police investigate his party rivals, business partners and bad belle village people. His assailants must come from any of the three options. |

aloy-emeka: Benga Daniel is in his 2nd tenure, so he has nothing to loose if this guy still contest. My suspicion will be directed towards the Speaker (Bankole) and other potential candidates. |

I thought Yoruba people have the best of the Babalawo JUJU protection, or is it fading out why not denounce all this ritual fetish stuff. may the soul of otunba Dipo Dina rest in peace, Amen! |

Rumor has it that he had a lot of evidence against OGD which he could use to have him prosecuted him after his immunity expires in 2011. Naija politics. . . VERY dirty! |

1forall: That's no longer a rumor. He has being detained, victimized and harassed severally by OGD before and after the 2007 general elections. |

Re: Dipo Dina Shot Dead In Ogun State « #48 on: Today at 02:38:57 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://thenationonlineng.net/web2/articles/34076/1/How-Dipo-Dina-was-killed-by-police-chief/Page1.html According to the police chief, the woman who he simply called Funmi said they and the late politician were going to a river on Agbara road, Ota "for spiritual cleansing" when the killers blocked their vehicle near Winners’ Chapel and shot the late Dina in the abdomen, killing him. He did not elaborate. Two things that Yorubas are thoroughly familiar with: rituals and women. |

I was telling a friend recently before this particular assasination that the reason, murders are never solved in Nigeria is because, the Nigeria police is primitive. No forensic, no record to check and people's disdain for the police, as people will always be the ears and eyes of the police in every crime. 99% of all murder cases solved by the British police are made possible through the information provided by the members of the public and with the aid of crime records and other records (eg Banking, marital affairs), and also forensic science, the killer will be caught. But one of the major reason for not catching killers in Nigeria, is the taboo that police should never look closer to home. How can you say that his best friend killed him? They will reason. And the naive and inept Nigerian police, unfortunately worked within this type of psyche and grave misconcept. It is a well know fact in the criminal justice world among advanced police forces all over the world that, probably almost 90% of all murders are planned and executed by people very close to the victim. Any police force that knows it's onion will tell you that when an assasination or murder like this one happened, questions and eyes should be first directed in this order of persons or personalities: Victim's wife or wives/husband Child/Children Brothers/Sisters Close/extended Family members Secret girlfriend/boyfriend Employees Parents Close Business associates Closest Friend/Friends Business Rivals Political associates Political rivals Robbery Mistaken identity Until Nigerian police conducts their work/investigation through this approach or method, this guy, Mr Dina, will end up, another statistics of Nigeria 17th century police force's unsolved murder cases |
