Nigeria Creates New Ministry For Niger Delta by norsman(m): 7:35pm On Sep 10, 2008 |
ABUJA, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Nigeria's cabinet approved a new ministry for the oil-producing Niger Delta on Wednesday and the demerging of the Energy Ministry into separate portfolios for petroleum and power. The changes were part of a broad restructuring by President Umaru Yar'Adua after 16 months at the helm of Africa's top oil producer and were the latest sign of him shaking off the influence of his predecessor Olusegun Obasanjo. "The cabinet has approved the restructuring of the ministries by demerging those that were merged by the previous administration," Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), told reporters in the capital Abuja after a cabinet meeting. The changes also included the reintroduction of the ministry for police affairs and the separation of some ministries merged by the last administration such as transport and aviation. You will see those dunce Niger Deltans jubulating over this. Somebody is holding your wealth and yourself to ransome and creating things like this to keep prolonging his hold on you and your wealth, yet you come here to tell us how he is better than the other master. Keep sleeping. So, now what happens to the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Niger delta Governors? You people will go in history as the biggest mugus of the hausa/fulanis, after all, they fought and liberated you. Just create one ministry for you and see all of you people troop into the streets to cheer your masters on. |

tpia:It's like am putting sand in your source of garri, this awusa boy. If my neighbors over slept, it's my duty to wake them up. Don't you notice that my comment have deterred them from coming out in masse as they use to do to celebrate another mediocrity meant to keep them more down than ever? Do you see them celebrating your papa yar'adua's new mediocre ministry creation? If they can't see that you and your illiterate people are cheating them and that makes you happy, then sorry to disappoint you, i must have to remind them. This 419 by your awusa people against my Niger Delta neighbors is long over due and it's not accepted anywhere in Igboland, so i must talk. |

QuotaSyste: your jealousy of other people's progress has turned you into a madman. Or maybe its your madness that's manifesting everywhere, who knows. ever heard of the outsider weeping louder than the bereaved? Your pathetic life prevents no one from achieving whatever they want to. eat your heart out and weep buckets of tears over your everlasting bad belle. More grease to your elbow and let peace of mind and progress continue to elude you as long as you continue to irritate others with your meaningless noise. |
Re: Nigeria Creates New Ministry For Niger Delta by coolruler(m): 3:53pm On Sep 11, 2008 |
Seriously though, I foresee another round of bickering is about to start over who gets what. For example, which State has first choice of the "positions" in the new Ministry? More importantly, what is the mandate of the New Ministry? wont there be duplication with NDDC job descriptions? Will the "choice positions" be by appointment or rotation? If by appointment, who does the choosing? and if by rotation, who takes first shot and for how long? Let it not suprise you that at this point in time and space, some states in the Niger Delta will start to see themselves as more Niger Deltan than the others. One thing's sure though, interesting days lie ahead, |

I have no objection to all these, however, hope it is not just a creation to silent people. But i will like to know what the objective is all about. |

Before the NDDC it was OMPADEC and presently DESOPADEC all set up with the aim of finding a lasting solution to the problem of the Niger-delta region. One cannot but wonder and ask questions like : will the responsibilities of the federal, state, and local government or even the commissions be given to the new ministry called the “ministry of the Niger-delta”. Recently a 40 man technical committee was set up to look into the problems of the oil rich region. The big question however is isn’t the creation of this Ministry prejudiced knowing that steering committee hasn’t submitted its report. http://connectafrica. |

from NEPA, to NEP PLC, to PHCN, to . . . . what is it now? from FEDECO, to NEC to NECON, to INEC what of NDDC instead of making it work we now have min of niger-delta. it doesnt solve the problem. method of administration or name change will not solve any problem. it means new post struggling among rivals, start afresh. etc the issue is about sincerity. b/c the resources are there to solve this problem but we lack sincerity from the top to bottom. let's watch and see if anything positive happens b/c now the govt has bought more time for their failures. now they can argue and say give the new ministry time to settle. naija |
Re: Nigeria Creates New Ministry For Niger Delta by Nigeria10: 6:37pm On Sep 11, 2008 |
it is a stupid idea. how can a govt have a ministry for the niger delta, so we they have a ministry for the north , a ministtry for the igbo biafra who have been denied the presidency, if they complain they want to rule. it is a stupid idea and i weep for nigeria. who ever gave the president that idea should be sack. look having some rich 42 VGC and asoroko men from niger delta in a conference is a waste and decietful way to the solution of the niger delta. any meeting that does not have asari dokubo and his militia who are the one creating the problem is a waste of time. i did not see dokubo name on the list. ever vice president jonathan can not speak for the people of the niger delta. you can not pick some people who the govt have enrich from contract and now tell us they are the representative of the niger delta. if we want to solve this problem. let us be sincere. the ministry of niger delta shows the govt does not want to solve or be sincere or serious about the issue of the niger delta. 42 rich federal govt contrator can not solve the problem in the niger delta. get sebella name on the list. if president yar adua does not get rid of all this adviser. already in pollls over polls. president yar adua is been considered as the worst president nigeria in nigeria history. if he does not believe, he should go from one nigeria forum online to another, they were all wishing dead while he was sick. it should tell him, how they feel about him. if he as gone to mecca to be close to God, it should reflect in his policy in govt. president yar adua should look at the polls . nigerian do not like him. he need to do something different, not play games with the lifes of nigerian. |

$$Rhino , nobody said you hate him, but all of you wanted him dead. you all started calling for jonathan to replace. it tell me what is in your. go to any nigerian forum. they all were the same. they wanted him out of power. How many people wish a good govt out of power. Not many. Mean it is obvious yar adua govt in not liked by many nigerian. If i am yar adua i would change my whole cabinet. it is not about leaving the old people. they have to go. Let me share this word of God. may be you know it is it is about the old wine in new bottle. If you have a old wine and you now change the bottle to a new one. Will that change the taste of the old wine? No it would still be the same. BAD. Now let do it this way. We clear the old bottle but we put a new wine. What will happen to the taste. the new wine would taste nice. As long as President Yar adua keep the old wine. Is drinks to nigerian would taste bad. but if he change the wine content. His drinks will change. Even if he is scared of what the content of the new wine would be. At least he knows already what the content of the old one is , it is BAD, and will forever remain bad. I pity yar adua. I would not like to be in his shoes. But a leader have to be strong sometime. And take decision that may hurt friends. |

DRANOEL:You and your Niger Delta people are the biggest mugus ever known to mankind. Our people noticed the evil intention of this tin head hausas more than 40 years ago, but until today, they are still taking you people for a ride with the picture clearly shown on the wall, yet, you are busy sleeping with the effects of kai kai and can't notice any of their fraud. You are happy that NDDC will become parastatal under the new created ministry. Lol, what a mugu. Does that mean increasing productivity? What about increasing same productivity under NDDC without creating new ministry? So, all of a sudden, new ministry will bring about increase in productivity? Listen attentively, increasing productivity is more important than increasing the number of people on government payroll, ala, creation of new ministry, but you porous heads won't get it until after some months when it will dawn on you that this is another fraud creation to divert attention and pressure and silent your people. Get it into your tin heads that sincere governments don't resolve problems of Niger Delta nature by creating extra ministries, rather they reform existing ministries by creating focus agency to make sure that assigned jobs are being executed. If not that i was the first person to post on this thread, many Ijaws would have flooded this thread with their celebration without thinking which is the only thing they know. Mugus, keep on sleeping. I remember when this same lame yar'adua was selected, many of them were rejoicing that their messiah has finally arrived while forgetting that he is still one of those that have been oppressing them since over 40 years. The offspring of a snake remains a snake. |
