At the end of the day the two teams with the best record are challenging for the SB. I fancy 'em Saints. I don't think My Indy can overcome this Saint team! sad

I was itching to get Old man Favre and his vikings cos we coulda trampled those ones easily but Saints. huh?

The Saints game go hard like LSAT and MCAT mixed up in one sitting!
Re: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 6:26am On Jan 25, 2010
Good games today.

My blue ponies held the #1 rushing offense to 86yds (3.9yds/A) and scored 30pts against the #1 defense. Now all those Jets fans and the band wagon analysts can eat crow. I guess Rex Ryan should be shocked to death  grin

I think Vikings were the better team today. They did  much better than I expected playing at the superdome. Still they failed to protect their forty year old virgin quarterback, fumbled too many times and were too glad to turn it over. Someone failed to add super glue to AP's gloves. I was expecting the Brees and the Saints offense to light up the Viking's secondary, but they performed below expectation.

Its funny how this analysts always talk out of both sides of their mouth. Today they were criticizing Brett for the last INT, saying it is basic QBing that you dont throw across your body through the middle of the field, whereas last week against Dallas, when he made the same throw and connected, they were singing his praises saying that throw was the hallmark of a great QB undecided

I am glad the saints won, in addition to being my sentimental favorite, they would be easier for the colts to beat. They have a pocket passer QB, an offense heavy on the pass, and a speed based running game, which match up well to our fast undersized defense and great bookends. Their defense is less stellar, having will smith as the key pass rusher, and with all their useless blitzing, I expect Manning to rip them apart. It should be a replay of their game against Dallas. The vikes on the other hand would have been major trouble with the power rushing of AP and Favre ability to bootleg and make plays.

See all the fun I missed lol . . .

I am more than satisfied with the outcome of the games. It's only fair the two best teams all year end up in the SB.

The downside is the Colts fans getting too swaggardly now  tongue grin  now who to win the SB? I'd say the Saints just cos they've never won one.

COLTS VS SAINTS. MY DREAM FINALE.

A SHOOT OUT BETWEEN THE LEAGUE BEST TWO QBS(SORRY BRADY FANBOIZ).

THIS MATCHUP COULD GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT SB GAMES. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO THIS GAME IS KIM. SHE WON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY TO GATHER AS MUCH ATTENTION AS POSSIBLE SLIP

Kim kadarshian isn't really an attention LovePeddler. u hardly see her unlike jessica simpson.  Reggie bush reverted back to the NFL reggie bush yesterday.  Pierre thomas is the way to go for the saints.

I pick the saints to win the superbowl. Peyton manning isn't used to this much playoff success, where is bellicheat and the pats when u need them (maybe the saints should wear patriot jerseys  grin)

True that. Kim K is on the level of a Jessica when it comes to attention seeking however she is seeks way too much attention.

I don't see the saints winning. They got pretty lucky against the vikings who outplayed them in every aspect of the game. If peyton and co play with the exact same attitude, they'll win.

AP is just massaging his oversized and inflated ego.Someone should also tell the dude he ain't no longer the NFL's best RB. CJ is.

P.S: Reggie bush should knuckle down and train during the post season. A man of his talent and ability should be the NFL's 3rd best RB behind Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson.
Re: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 3:37am On Jan 26, 2010
AP is still the best RB in the league. His problem is his unwillingness to admit that he has a problem holding on to the ball. Until he does, the Viking cannot win a SB, cos he will fumble the ball at critical times, and the more people know you are careless with the ball, the more often the will try to strip it.

The more I think about the matchup, the less I think of the Saints chances of winning. That saints defence is going to struggle against Manning and his spread offence. Without any shutdown DBs, they will have to play nickel coverage and '3 v 2' on Dallas and Wayne, which will again leave Garcon and Collie with single coverage and Addai with a LB coming out of the back field. I think Garcon will again provide the most difficult matchup for the saints, as he is big fast and physical, posing a deep threat that most top DB will have major difficulty to cover 1v1. Collie is just the X-factor, that tilts the balance when you feel you have everyone else covered. Without the crowd noise they used to their advantage in the superdome, and with only will smith as a quality pass rusher, they have almost no chance of getting to Manning without blitzing. Overall, Manning will likely score 30+ points against them. Last time they met in Indy, Colts scored 41.

So the question then is can the Saints put up 30+ pts against the Colts defence with the best bookends in the game. I doubt it, as brees hasn't faired well against elite rushers like Dallas and Miami. Saints don't have an elite receiver that can make big plays, and their passing game depends heavily on the accuracy of Brees throws. Being a 6ft pocket passer (compared to the likes of Rivers and Manning at 6-5), his games suffers when his O-Line collapse in on him as he cant see over the wall and has to air the ball a bit to get it over (or roll out which is not his forte), which makes an INT more likely.Their running game is mainly E-W finesse, and less N-S power, and this should play into the hands of the very fast colts defense. Its funny that the Colts defence dont get their due credit against the run. They averaged 4.3yds/A against the run and that is after facing 4 of the top 5 rushing teams, and facing 5 of the top 6 RB (with CJ and MJD 2x).

I do feel that reggie should be able to hurt the colts on special teams and give his team good field positions, though that antivirus boy, McAfee, has been consistent for Indy in putting the ball into the end-zone. Indy do have 2 of the best post season  kickers in the league in Adam and Stover. Those guys have ice in their veins.

Add the experience of having been to the SB before and thing are heavily in favor of Indy. While the Saints and their fans are still celebrating winning the NFC, the colts have likely started preparing for the SB. It was just a stark contrast in the way both teams celebrated their wins.

The Vikings shot themselves in the head with all their fumbles and turnovers. The Colts wont be so careless with the ball.

AP needs to work on his fumbling, even tiki barber at the end of his career got rid of his fumbling woes.  Is it worth it to fight for one extra yard just to fumble the ball? AP has worked on his pass catching but its time to work on the blocking and ball handling.

As for reggie bush, he was supposed to be a poor man's reggie bush at worst but sadly he is looking more and more like DANTE HALL or a rich man joshua cribbs.

I beg to differ on AP still being the league's premier RB. C.J has overtaken the dude . C.J is like a faster version of  Barry Sanders only without the jukes and sudden change of direction Barry had.

As you noted, the dude has a massive fumbling problem and until he corrects that, he'll remain no2 to C.J. If C.J had played on a better team, he would have been in contention for the league's MVP(not saying he would have won it)

That's my gripe with the lad. I just don't get it, why would fight for one extra yard (which in scheme of things) isn't that important only for you to fumble the ball undecided undecided. Wel as they say with age comes experience and the dude would probably learn as time goes on.

As for reggie bush, everyone thought he would be the next big RB sensation in the NFL(a la Tomlinson,Sanders,Emmitt and co). Guess we were all wrong In reality he really should be the one getting the attention the likes of CJ and AP are getting but he isn't. Anyways I guess he is still young therefore there is plenty of time for him to prove people wrong.
Re: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by biina: 7:03am On Jan 26, 2010
You cant crown CJ top RB until he delivers next season. Its nice to get 2K yards when you aren't expected to, but lets wait and see how well he does when the opposition have come to stop you as the main offensive threat. He also has to score more TDs.

The way the league is in love with the QBs and passing game, it is difficult for an RB to get the MVP

APs fumbling problem is not from trying to get extra yards, the guy just doesn't protect the ball well enough.

Reggie Bush seems to have been drafted into the wrong team. Its either the Saints arent sure on how best to utilize him, or they cant get the dedication out of him to use him as they would like. He seems to have become a jack of all trades master of none. I would have liked to see him in an offense like the Colts or Dolphins that like talented athletes who are not necessarily spectacular in any position
Re: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by bawomolo(m): 8:30am On Jan 26, 2010
it would be fun to watch reggie bush and ronde brown play together.

APs fumbling problem is not from trying to get extra yards, the guy just doesn't protect the ball well enough.

his running style and the way he handles the ball does leads to his fumbling problem. AP might need to understand there's nothing bad with running out of bounds at time and he better work on protecting those hand offs.

Of course you can crown him. Based on this year's performance he is the best. Ofcourse that is not to say that AP wouldn't regain his title next year however as of now there is no one better. The frightening thing about AP and CJ is that they both are yet to reach their peak. Barring injuries and loss of form, these two will set the league alight for years to come. All we have to do is sit back and enjoy.

Regarding the NFL MVP and SB MVP, they might as well rename them the QuarterBack MVP cuz we all know all the QB has to do these days is to have a pretty decent game/season on the league's best team and bang they'll win it. Infact i've already put a wager on Brees/Manning winning the SB MVP.

True That. He runs too upright however a counter arguement would be that if he changes his running style he wouldn't be as fast/effective as he is now. IMO, all he has to do is work on his ball protection.

Is Freeney practising now?
No

Colts injuries that did not practice:
Jerraud Powers (CB) - foot
Dwight Freeney (DE) - ankle
Donald Brown (RB) - foot

Limited participation in practice:
Melvin Bullit (SS) - knee
Austin Collie (WR) - foot
Antonio Bethea (FS) - back
Jacob Tamme (TE) -ankle

Everybody else had full practice.

Powers, Freeney, Brown and Bullit are listed as questionable, but I expect them all to play in the SB.

Injuries for the saints

Those that did not practice:
Jeremy Shockey (TE) - knee.
Randall Gay (CB) - foot,
Lynell Hamilton (RB) - ankle
Will Smith (DE) - groin

Those limited practice:
Malcolm Jenkins (CB) - hamstring
Courtney Roby (WR) - knee
Jon Vilma (LB) - knee
Darren Sharper (FS) - knee
Zach Strief (LT) - shoulder

All were listed as questionable.

Feel both teams are exaggerating their injuries.

The should scrap the pro-bowl or make it significant by awarding the winning side some spoils like in baseball, the winning conference gets to have home field in the world series.

Not looking good at all, s it means less pressure on brees and bushrod. The funny part about football is that the players you lose before the game does not bar you from losing more during the game. Thats why all the rest to avoid injuries from Polian was just BS. Freeney got injured trying to not put a late hit on Sanchez.
