You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother's eye.  Matthew 7: 5

i see this as an important topic for Christians. The Christian faith has become know far too much for its judgments and far less for its mercy. We pick out sins to condemn mankind with and yet fail to tell them of God’s mercy. I feel that it is not our role to judge others. I feel that Jesus told us to base the way to live ones life on the scriptures. To judge, as in to discern your own path, not as in to lay judgement on other peoples' lives according to how it should fit into your life. If a sinner comes for help in repentance, by all means help him. But do not judge him.

@huxley

whats your take from a Mu$lim point of view

the important thing here is to note that it is refering to "brothers". A christian is not a brother to the unbeliever . . . besides the unbeliever is classified as BLIND by the bible so there's no beam or speck to remove from eyes that are not there in the first place.

Invoking this verse is irrelevant to you.

C'mon,  go have your turn in bed first. Otherwise, one of your co-wives might get there first.  Go, please go.  Who let  you out, barbaric imp?

thats a typical response you get from a christain when you tell them that you dont believe in god. . . . you can't have it both ways. . . . . christains expect us to respect their beliefs but they are quick to look down or disparage the athiest for their own beliefs. . . .wasting your time you say. . . that is the typical response you get from christains when you tell them you dont believe in any god/gods. . . . and when we challenge their faith they get angry. . .

closing of the mind is relative. While you accuse the religious of having a closed mind the same could be said of your own inability to see anything beyond your own religion wrongly refered to as rationalism.

It is better to close an argument if you percieve it is not leading anywhere. That's one of the things we are encouraged to do as christians.

Just my point. As Christians you are encourage to take leave of your thinking faculties.

I am encouraged not to engage you in your remarks which are intended to generate arguments and which are of no use to anyone.

Why do you feel the need to try and force christians by engaging their thinking faculties, especially with your knowledge that we have taken leave of our thinking faculties?

Exactly my own point for the last few weeks. Why the obsessive need to force "explanations" from christians?

I  believe that this thread is no more than an unecessary attack on christians.

Name calling is against the rules.

The responses of others have also informed my decision to lock it.

In as much as I do not approve of Cayon's name-calling (unless stupeee is a compliment), do you guys really want to know more or are you just being on the offensive? You need to think about that.
