He Died In A London Hospital,a Fade? by james1(m): 11:44am On Sep 18, 2008 |
Hello Everyone. These days,we are inundated with news of different person(s)dieing in London hospitals.it seems from the express announcements both in the print media and one to one discussion that it is done with glee. To die in a London hospital(s)now seem like a status symbol amongst certain class of people. Illiteracy of the mind is one big issue in Nigeria! That is not to say that we have a good health system here, not at all:i have heard person(s)die from complications of pile, fibroid and many surgeries that our doctors are supposed to be able to go over like a minor thing.these same doctors go abroad and do very well in their choosen fields!the poor salary structure here, must be a major contributor. In a country where the latest estimates put it this way:30 doctors to 100,000 patients and 3 nurses to 30 patients.why won't our hospitals be death traps?(most of them)yet our doctors and nurses troop out of the country on a weekly basis. The national assembly should as a matter of urgency initiate and pass a bill to address this grim trend or we can as well expect the worse. |
