YOU BETTER REVEIW YOUR PRICES.
HOW MUCH IS THE BRAND NEW A/C AT PARK n SHOP(for that matter),, it's N63750; And you're selling yours 53k.
See, once an item is used, it's value is almost halfed so please do the right thing and let me link you up with a buyer.

Re: Items For Sale by MAYSAMUEL(m): 12:53pm On Sep 23, 2008
How much do they sell new LG microwave that you are calling a used one 30 something thousand naira, even a tokunbo carina E 1996 model is not up to a million not to talk of a Nigerian used. I had a bro in law who won American visa lottery last year and this was how he was inflating the prices of his properties until the time to travel became so near that he ended up giving most of this properties out without collecting kobo, so bro make your case no come be like that, you better talk correct price.

@ Poster,

I understand your dilema. The advice given already here, should not be ignored in its entirety as it makes some sense. However, that is not to say that you should sell the items at give away prices.

My advice is that you should do a "yard sale". It's not common here abouts, but a few people have done it successfully. Its common in the U.S, and a family friend of mine had one here in Nigeria fter she got work permit in the UK under the HSMP (Have you seen "Clean House" and their yard sales?). She sent invites out to all, offering drinks and snacks (like a going away party). Attendees were required to come along with cash and/or their cheque books.

Rules: If you pay cash you carry go. If you issue cheque,  you cant carry until your cheque clears.

What you have to do is do a print out of all the items and send it out with a notice of the date you intend to have the sale. Send it out to your family, friends, ,neighbours and co-workers, by surface mail and/or email. Mind you, a lot of these people have being eyeing this items and hoping that you will "dash" them when you are leaving. So, be very formal and objective and have an idea of your lowest acceptable price.

If you give this a shot, I think you might get better pricing. Its just that culturally our people  tend to keep travel runs hush hush, so you might not want this publicity.

All the best!

For example, that samsung 1.5hp is sold at 44,500 naira and that LG TV, i bought a 29inches for 62,400 last 2mths. So where on this planet did you get your own prices from ? Abi na on loan you buy them ? undecided
Re: Items For Sale by akininNC(m): 4:38pm On Sep 24, 2008
Why is everyone complaining about this man's prices. This is a free market economy thus the market will decide whether or not his prices are too high. He has not asked anyone for pricing advice. If you feel his prices are too high, simply move on. Nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy!!!!!
