Sunderland have rejoined the race to sign Manchester United striker Alan Smith. (The Sun) But Middlesbrough are close to winning the battle after offering Smith a massive £60,000-a-week contract. (Daily Mirror) Omo, make we quick confirm Tevez so dat we go know who go stay 'n who go leave. . . |

Serie A side Napoli have expressed an interest in Manchester United's Giuseppi Rossi. . . . . we have to find a way of hanging on to this guy; he's got great potentials! |

@somze, Madrid want Ballack. . . u guys have placed 27m on his head - does that mean y'all don't want his ass anymo' ? |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by somze(f): 9:52am On Jul 31, 2007 |
We make losses of 31m every year. Ballack's wages alone in a year amount to ₤6,292,000 minus such allowance as - appearance, assist etc. Shevy was bought for ₤30m and his wages are like that of Ballack. The issue is simple, we would start making profits if we rid our selves of this two players. However, i feel they would be given another season to prove themselves in England |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Razorr(f): 9:53am On Jul 31, 2007 |
@Rude boy ![]() Surplus to requirements huh? Listen up love. Ballack would be a force to reckon with this season, so beware! Chelsea players to look out for this season are: - 1. Ashley Cole. 2. Joe Cole. 3. Michael Ballack. 4. Mikel Obi. 5. Steven Sidwell. 6. Scott Sinclair and 7. Florent Malouda. Underestimate any of these boys at your own peril. ![]() |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Razorr(f): 9:55am On Jul 31, 2007 |
Ofcourse I didn't have to add the Drog to that list. Only a nincompoop would underestimate him. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by somze(f): 10:12am On Jul 31, 2007 |
Ruudie There are fans that know about the club, watch every game, follow up on players, consider statistics and there are other fans. In each case everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And what i said does not negate what any other person said. I talked about profits and finances which is what i thought you were on about. I dont want any wahala today, ![]() |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Razorr(f): 10:16am On Jul 31, 2007 |

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:30am On Jul 31, 2007 |
somze: @ Somze, I quite disagree with u on ur theory. Chelsea needs a bigger stadium to generate more revenue and make their club a brand name. Sheva and Ballack's wages have a a non-significant effect on the Profit/Loss accounts at CFC. Say for instance, Chelsea gets a magnificient 70,000 capacity stadium and they fill it up week in week out. . . . . . That will amount to like 2-3 million pounds every matchday and thats some mad cheddarz for the club. The FA will be forced to organise few International matches whenever Wembley is under maintenance since Chelsea FC is closer to Wembley than any other stadium in London. Roman has to get it right with match attendance and this is where i think Man Utd makes more money. Chelsea as a club with multi-million pound players is too big to be having a disappointing 40,000 as their highest match attendance. The stress will definitely eat up the profits. Clubs like Fulham, Reading with the same capacity do not HAVE high salary players like Ballack and Terry so it evens out and they cant feel the STRAIN. Lil' wonder Liverpool is building a stadium soon. Anutha factor is the merchandise. Chelsea hasn't really sold their brands all over the world. Roman and Kenyon should go to Far East Asia and explore it the way Man Utd has done. The best trick is to sign one Asian player and the rest is history. Mourinho prefers buying Africans and apart from Nigeria, where u got die-hard fans, other African countries are too poor to worry about buying merchandise. Even Nigerians prefer buying the fake stuffs and it doesn't contribute anything to Chelsea's coffers so Asia is the best place to promote marketing. Ferguson signed Dong Fangzhou and Ji Sung Park to explore the Asian market. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by somze(f): 10:37am On Jul 31, 2007 |
Jackal, You need profits to build a stadium, Even a profit machine like Arsenal is still running in overdraft becuz of the Emirates. If i so establish that these players are unsuitable for the club. Then my theory would gain weight. It is only wrong on the fact that i was silent on their contributions ( or should i say future contributions). I kind of agree with you concerning the Asia market and i think Kenyon is working on that. Consider out Chinese initiatives. Also to sell merchandise you need to win stuff, The Champions league has eluded us and must me won unless we would never be in the league of some bigger teams in the eyes of neutrals. Our game play and publicity of stars too has to be brought into consideration. |

@Razorr what d'u call a match where playas are walking after balls like they was in cricket practice and flying away from tackles if the boot comes as close 2ft near 'em? if they'd played G. Pharmaceuticals or Urawa then we'd call that a match c'uz d'ose ones wan impress so d'em go play fire but Rangers get ligue to play 2 so d'em playas go d'ey form aje 4 field. . . na pesin like Sidwell wey no get hope 4 shirt go d'ey giri gai 4 d'ere. . . put pesin like Ballack, u go see sey na d'at time im own efisi go start! erhm, erhm. . . abeg make sure u keep ur promises oh. . . ![]() ![]() ![]() |
