A Nigerian businessman was brutally murdered yesterday in Sanyuli, Guangzhou province, China; just as he was living his hotel and the security officers demanded for his passport and this led to an argument and he was battered with steel pipes and before the other concerned Nigerian citizens rushed him to the hospital, he gave up his ghost, steel pipes is what they use in China to beat Nigerians.

Alot of Nigerians have died this way and i wonder it continues like this, what will be the faith the Nigerian businessman visiting China for business.

I beg the NIGERIAN government to do something positive in helping her citizens by showing concern and love for her children who suffers in the hands of these wolves in human clothing.
Nigerians have been intimidated,victimised and brutalised by the CHINESE people and it has to stop.

Very sad, and disturbing story. May that man rest in peace, and hopefully justice will prevail.

But, China and African countries have a "unique" relationship with each other. Do you ever wonder why America doesn't invest billions of dollars into Africa like China does? Well, it's because China doesn't get involved with social/political issues in other nations, and they expect the same in return. You likely won't hear about Nigeria complaining to China about how their citizens are treated, but I think a good move would be to warn citizens of Nigeria of the kind of treatment they will likely encounter when going to China. a typical south-africa relatively aint buzniess-wise ambitious. a lot of them are on drugs and mostly are ruggedly heavy drinkers, trapped in the poverty.it was once said emm that a visit to south-african air ports, u will be amazed to know 90% passengers are whites!

If you take away Nigerians living in Guangzhou, china; the chinese economy will have a serious negative effect and it will not recover in a long time.
About 90% of Nigerians living in that city do not have papers and the authorities know this. They usually do not disturb these nigerians until they begin to get notorious by involving themselves in illegal activities as usual. All the guys that are in the so-called concentration camp are drug dealers and murderers.
The chinese government does not have time to try anybody for immigration irregularities, all they do is fine you about $2,000 for the breach of immigration law and for your flight back home if you are a nigeria, pakistani or iraqi. You will never smell the prison if you have such amount of money, but if you don't, you may be left in the immigration prisons for about 3 month before you will be repatriated back to your country( this law is applied mostly to nigerians as they are very notorious here). Other foreigners including other African countries can even go and renew their their visa after 1 month of expiration without paying fine.

My couisin went to renew his visa last week without knowing that it had expired about a month ago. On getting to the police station, the OC had to check his criminal record and was fascinated that a nigerian had stayed in china for so long with a clean record. They quickly made friends with him and waived the fine.

Alot of Nigerians are doing good business in this city but majority are into illegal activities especially drug peddling. As much as i sympathize with the family of the slain Nigerian i will not be surprised if these whole thing is drug related or even a set up by fellow nigerians as they have found ways to corrupt some police officers in that city.
Most nigeria business men come to china in pretence of coming to do business. Do not be fooled; they have drugs starshed in their bellies.
When i got my visa to come to china, i was almost lured by more than 5 different cartels in nigeria to push drugs for them. And you know, the returns are always great but by the grace of God and the values my parents instilled in me right from childhood played out. The other guys who went that way are buying hummer SUV and building houses in nigeria right now and unfortunately, the ones who couldnt make it, are serving right now.

A few months ago, I persuaded some of my chinese friends who wanted to invest in telecom and natural gas to go to Nigeria and invest, they accepted immediately believing that every nigeria was as honest as they saw me. After 2 months stay in Nigeria, they ran back to china. They have been duped, but due to my fast intervention, they were able to recover most of their money. I partially blamed them as they wanted to cut out my partner and friend i initially assigned to them.
They said nigeria will be a great place to do biz but they wont have anything to do with her except i am going to be part of the whole program. I sure will do this as part of my contribution to the so called nation building, but i have other things to take care of now.

Back in china, Nigerians are not trusted, infact, they have made it so difficult for other black guys that are not nigerians.

But this was not the case in the begining, Nigerians were well respected a few years back. The chinese government ordered a VIP treatment for them. If  you report a cab driver for pulling a fast one on you; he is immediately fired and charged for corruption. But trust nigerians, they took advantage of the VIP treatment. They began boarding cabs without paying, and the cab drivers never tried reporting the crime as the government might not believe them.
Then, all of a sudden, the government got fed up and decided an eye for an eye. Even at that, nigerians and other foregners still get VIP treatment in other parts of china except guangzhou.
I don't identify with nigerians here and i tell it them in their face just like i do here on nairaland.

With this essay, i hope most people here will understand why "i no send naija", but one thing i do to the best of my ability is to be at my best behaviour. Now, that is defination of who is a NIGERIAN PATRIOT

I never compared the nigerians to chinese, i only stated what nigerians do here.
Alot of fake stories have been here on how nigerians are being maltreated in china for not meeting the immigration laws when in the actual sense, it has to do with drugs and murder.

Believe me Tex, if properly investigated, you may find out that this whole matter of "show me your kpali" is actually about drugs. Usually a tip by a rival nigerian. You cant lodge in a hotel without registering with your passport; never!!!
Besides, the cops here pay high respect to bizmen putting up in hotels.

Now this is the reason why I hate reacting to most of these threads on here as many would rather I do. There have been numerous threads on how Chinese people are racist and how the chinese government wants Africans for slaves. When you compare those to reality, you wonder where these stories come from.  A family member just came back last month or so from a two-month long visit to china and she had nothing to good stories to tell of the chinese people and how they treat blacks.

You come on here and you find people who have never stepped foot in china, telling you stories of how they know all the chinese people are out to get them and what not.

I cannot exernorate the chinese from being racists.
Some of them sometimes even discriminate against white men, filipinos, koreans and their worst enemies are Japanese. But that of the black man got so bad due to the distrust nigerians have created in china. I would likely do the same if i were them.

But to be fair to some of the racist chinese; most of them are just "ignorant racist". Imagine being brought up with stories of how black men kill each other on daily basis just like in nigeria, how Africa is impoverished even with enormous resources at her disposal, how women and children are raped on daily basis, how we have had access to the white man for a long time yet we could put anything to practice, not even copy. All these stories are actually backed up by live pictures from various media houses.
The case that really confirms the sad situation is when these nigerians come here and begin to do exactly what the CNN and BBC have just shown on the TV.
Recently, one of my neighbours walked up to me and said that she has always been afraid of two set of people in this world and they are: the black man and a white man with tattoo, but after coming in contact with 2 of us, it was now clear to her that people are the same all over the world. She said she used to be terrified with the kind of news she hears about these set of people especially the black man.

1. Hater/open racist: KKK, Nation of Islam, Skinheads; they are usually very violent and they tell you to your face how much they hate you. Can be found in western countries and no trace in china.

2. Hidden racists: Due to hypocrisy on the fight against racism, most westerners can be said to hidden racists. Can be found in work places.

3. Ignorant racists: Due to what a particular race has done to you or beloved one or what you have heard about a particular race; one tends to distance himself from these set of people. Mostly found in china.

It is with sadness that i update you all on the Late Mr ken who like i said, was brutally murdered in Gangzhou, China just as he was living his Hotel room by some unscropulous Chinese security guards.
Nigerians in Guangzhou are deeply grieved by this inhuman and bastardly act and they reacted by way of a peaceful demostration to the Police Headquarters in Sanyuli, Guangzhou and also to the hospital morgue where his corpse was laid.
A youngman with Two kids, what will justify his death, NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING.
Nigerian government please do something positive before it becomes uncontrollable.
