How I wish Nigerian students can stand against this act of
exploitation by the NYSC...... Its not about being rich, but
its about being patriotic! The efforts of NYSC at reducing
the risk of travelling to our various institutions for our call
up letters and numbers is appreciated, but I seem not to
understand the justification for the N4000 charge! Is it the
cost of posting the details online? Or just a means of
generating funds for the government? Or to increase the
funds available for embezzlement?
It is unfortunate that so many of us dont even understand
or have probably forgotten what the word "rights" mean. It
is saddening that alot of us are being intimidated by the
call up numbers reportedly mailed to those rich kids who
paid the N4000! If there is no sufficient fund, why cant our
government scrap the programme? After all not many of
us like it. This NYSC programme has led to the untimely
death of hundreds of thousand graduates, and instead of
our government to encourage us to participate in the
programme, they are widening the existing gap between
the rich and the poor!

Ok, i wanted to keep quite but i just have to chip in,
Nysc only stressed on mailing callup letters against travelling to get it, that doesnt mean its the only benefit you will gain from paying the 4k, there are other benefits too just as sadiq said before, but dont expect it to be stated in black and white for you, use your head, there are more benefits to come, espeacially in camp registration, watch and see. I was alarmed by the huge amount and joined the protest, but i still paid cos justice is very slow in the country. I am not forcing anyone to pay, but i am saying better to be on a safe side.

Bros, forget that thing...if I'm still here and doing fine despite how many of my padis are out there who have their call-up numbers already and influencing their posting, meaning I'm here not bowing to that kinda pressure, you think whatever preferential treatment they give 'em over there in camp will move me either?? Actually I just talked to an officer in NYSC, Abuja and it looks like there is a special posting consideration on their posting schedule! Southerners would serve in the south (regardless of States) and northerners would serve in the north (regardless of the states excluding d 3 states under state of emergency) reliable source!
