technology but as of yet isn't a display technology on
its own.

combination. Samsung Galaxy S2 uses a "Super
AMOLED Plus" display and a Gorilla Glass plate
overtop.
So you can't really compare the two.

Like previously posted AMOLED is a display tech just like LED,LCD,OLED etc while gorilla glass is a protection tech just like sapphire glass and tempered glass. So don't get it twisted.

I think you now know the difference between the two now. AMOLED is a display tech in the group of TFT, LED, OLED, Super AMOLED, LCD and IPS displays. And corning gorilla glass is in the protection department that is overlayed on the display tech which includes Sapphire crystal glass, Ashai dragontrail glass and corning gorilla glass 2 and 3. Sometimes some OEM's do blend these two department into one single sheet of glass which they call OGS (One Glass Display)...
