Emekayoung:

Most mechanics will connect the fan direct without removing the thermostat,so that's definitely what happened which is the reason why the temperature gets to the middle within five minutes of driving.
Most mechanics that removes thermostat are scared of the temperature guage getting to the middle and wires the fan to run constantly.
Yours was an exception.

Hello folks, good morning. Please can someone recommend a very good auto-mechanic for setting of camber, caster and toe for Lexus GS350? The right rear leg is visibly not well aligned and car vibrates when speed/acceleration increases.

Location: Ikeja / Ogudu, Lagos
You need to fix the suspension issue 1st before taking it for alignment.

I'm planning of getting a Cargo bus, the one usually called panel bus for use for distribution of goods (Biscuits, Bread, Hollandia milk etc) within the city and I'm contemplating between a Ford transit or VW transporter. Can someone please advise on which is better in terms of low cost to run, durability, availability of parts and easy to work on by most of our Kazeems. Thanks.

Does a 2016 Camry differential require oil change as in older Camry like 2000?

Differential or transmission?
For transmission, yes it does. It's a sealed transmission and is said to last the lifetime of the car according to the manufacturer, but not changing the transmission oil at every 50,000 miles would shorten the lifetime.
For the differential, it's a front front wheel drive car and the differential is joined with the transmission to make it a single unit unlike rear wheel drive or multiple drive wheel cars that have a separate differential and transfer case that should be serviced and lubed separately.

If it is tokunbo engine you can switch to 5w30 but monitor for smoking and drying. If you don't experience either of the two, you are good to go, if not maintain your 20w50 but buy mobil xhp or total quartz 5000 they are better change every 3months of 3000 km

If you bought the car Nigerian used, use same oil weight previous owner was using.
If foreign used and the engine does not have sludge, use recommend oil weight.

Good Morning.

Please I’d like to ask and know the Reason why the rear differential/axle of an AWD Venza vibrates violently when the car turns at low speed.

Looks like the tires aren’t slowing down for each other when making turn.

Please help.

You've answered the question yourself.
The last time I checked, your vehicle does not have a locking differential. If it locks up for any reason, then the differential needs to be examined.
Jack all 4 wheels up and spin individually, you go see why

(1.) I jacked up the two back wheels and rolled them.

(2.) They seem to go in different directions when I rolled them with my hands, but there was no loud or really noticeable sound.

(3.) The front axle which the propeller is attached to seems bent to one side by few degrees, also the chassis seems to be bent towards the back too, could these 2 factors also cause the wheels not to spin properly when turning.

Please Note: if I’m going on a straight line there is no vibrations at all.

Thank you 🙏

It can but will it last?

I strongly believe with good maintenance it should last.

Also how much would a repair cost and what part would one need to buy?

Bearing and seals alone?

I reserve my comment on the good maintenance it should last line of thought.

I cant tell you what you need to replace cos I don't have the faintest idea of what's broken inside.

Does the wheel or differential make any funny clicking sound while turning it?
You didn't state what position the gear selector was when performing that test.
Run a VIN check on your car to know if it's an accidented car.
Not sure it should be bent or slanted.

I believe you've gotten response to this on another thread.
The Ford will carry more load because of it's drive configuration.
Both can be fixed easily in a city like Lagos.

1. I think it made a very very faint clock/tap sound when it gets to a particular point on when I roll it.

2. The vin is shows a dent free car.

At that point it makes that sound, shake the shaft and tyres and see if there's more play there compared to when there's no click or sound.
Sounds like that's the point it's locking.
Remote diagnosis would be difficult on this.
