Nigellus_Hosan:...of course i wished, but if wishes are horses, sometimes,...it's not as we wish. But i live by this reasoning..'some people are born with silver spoon, I'm not born with one...but that doesn't mean i can have one. I just have to forge a golden one'....of course you know what the process of forging entails...it requires exploration, refining, and shaping... 1 Like |

Youngzedd: Give your kids the best if you have what it takes.I agree with you but does the best means outrageously expensive? I feel sorry for this country where people associate good education with colossal sums. I do remember that top echelons scattered across the lengths and breadth of Nigeria today were never products of any of these schools. It's only unfortunate that the schools of the days of yore which produced astute and accomplished Nigerians has dwindled in the face of time;especially that the likes of the teachers of those days are extinct in the semblance of such schools today. Adieu Nigeria public schools may your memories remain infinitely, those you produced will never forget you but to their ignominy you are now a bed ridden of knowledge and a mockery of none existence schools in your days of glory. Adieu! adieu! 3 Likes |

This is one thing people that understand about private and elite education. You create a good foundation to build your future success on. Look at it this way. There is every chance that students who go to that uni will also go to private universities like the CU's and Babcocks of this world, there is everychance most of them will school abroad , all along you make connections and friends for life. Most of them finish come back to Nigeria and get the top jobs every where, they have friends that they went to the same school with, they are all in the same social circles again, they give out contracts to each other, they pull strings for each other. Not saying its a guarantee for success but it is a good step 4 Likes |

Sirniyeh: Trash!you actually wrong, people who attend prep school have almost automatic admission in ivy league university in america or Russel group in Uk. or you think the all the childrens of Ngozi, El rufai, nuhu ribadu, Dangote, Otedola are all very smart that they are attending ivy and Russel group university thus your son attend prep school will have a better chance of going to ivy and Russel group university, and if he attend those universities, eassy to have internship at HBSC or Shell grop etc, with Degree from Oxford and master for Harvard and internship with CNN and dad connection. only a miracle from god. that will make him roaming the street of abuja and lagos looking for jobs. yes once a while the son of no body can make it, does mean the parent should not try and give their children a leg off |

Young Da Naval: Guy, abeg shut up. Ah take God name beg u. If u dare comment any further here, ah fit break ya head oh! I've always noticed some thick-headed monsters on Nairaland and you never proved otherwise. Just so you know, I attended a Public school that lacked so many things including Tissue papers. I really can't tell you what to think or say, apparently you have a freedom of speech. Secondly, I apologize for my first line. But I will tell you something you fail to understand. No parent in their right mind would be wealthy enough and let greed debase their child's education. While my parent weren't rich enough to send me to the most expensive school perhaps good school, I don't have to complain about people who does rather I'm trying to make you be a guiding light and not lead a protest by letting people who read this forum understand there is actually nothing bad in sending your kid to an EXPENSIVE school.....Oh! I think the word EXPENSIVE confuses you, I will use a subdued word so you could understand what I mean..The word is GOOD school. Surprisingly, I turned out well in life.. Nothing comes easy brother, you're either from a Wealthy home or you make a Wealthy home for your kids. Either way your resolution would be discernible in end. Work hard and pray your kids don't envy other kids because you were too busy thinking you're wiser than the man who values the future of tomorrow's leaders. 2 Likes |
