Djangocode: Mikel's the slowest footballer on planet earth.. He can't mark(no ruggedity no pace), Neither can he create assists or attack(Onazi's way better).. I've always disliked his style of play.. Modern day midfield is all about the ability to Mark, Retain Possession, start counter, give incisive passes, shoot from a range.. Mikel has none of these qualities.. He's the only player now that needs to sit on the Bench.. 3games played below par.. Did u guys watch Onazi against Argentina, he was really excellent.. Uchebo was clumsy the few minutes he was on against Argentina, and I was always scared whenever he touched the ball.

Azeez didn't impress against Iran, no, I think I'll keep slow Mikel rather than taking him out totally, for lack of a better option. Azeez and Onazi in the MF? No thank you, Onazi is already too much.

no, Musa is too little, he will just squeeze himself through tight spaces.

Musa's position shoul be changed is all, he can take up the right wing, Emenike shouldn't be in the middle, he has proved he can terrorise wings better, rather than bulling through the middle, he can be put on wing business, Left wing (Musa's former position), Osaze and Nwofor should operate from the middle and await those crosses.

Since Mikel and Onazi are good with long crosses and Onazi particularly likes to shoot aimlessly from ridiculously far distances, would be good if the boys could learn to pounce on loose balls, we tend to have a lot of that

The truth is that Mikel is old and we must accept it. He played for Plateau United of Jos for two seasons before playing for under 17, was he 14 years then? He later joined Pepsi academy while still with Plateau united FC of Jos, then he was bearing John Obi, it was when he joined Under 17 that the name Mikel was inserted. That name over time was made to look like his surname which is not true. So he is struggling to meet up with the pace of any game and that is why he slows down.
He is well over 30 years and my elder brother was a coach player with John Obi, sorry Mikel and I saw pics of Mikel in training then. The problem of Super Eagles and dwindling performance started when we made it a duty to graduate players from under age team to the main team. Most of these players are old and have passed their prime.
