Hello dadekunle. The activities you are describing sound like those of a religious worker, which requires an R1 visa. This requires a petitioner in the US to make an application to USCIS. dadekunle: 1 Like |

Hello shawla. It is possible to apply for a nonimmigrant visa while an immigrant visa is in process. Your parents probably qualify for dropbox, but may be asked to come in for an interview. shawla: |

Good day Opsynene. Minor children typically travel with their parents or close family members. Because of the sad reality of human trafficking, we take a very close look at situations where children are traveling with people that are not their parents. This necessarily lengthens the time for administrative processing. Opsynene: 1 Like |

Hello daway. There is no hitch in applying from Nigeria. Your application will be evaluated comprehensively. Since you don't live in your home country, demonstrating ties that will compel a timely return may be more challenging. daway: |

Hello KAY187. It was your own posting that said the misrepresentation occurred in 2014. You seem to have trouble getting your story straight. Tell your story to the consular officer at your interview; a confession here won't do any good. KAY187: |

Hello vo The tour guide is their uncle, my in-law, my wife's sisters husband And it was all stated in their application form for them It has been 10months since we went to the embassy and was placed on administration. I want to know whether we can apply again as they want to travel for Easter holidays. I read on the UStravels that administration is supposed to be for 2months and might extend more than that in some circumstances. All I need to know is that can we reapply, my wife has finished her contract and will be able to go with the children now |

Hello Opsynene. It's better to resolve an existing application rather than adding a new application on top of it. I recommend e-mailing the embassy again, either to ConsularAbuja@state.gov or LagosNIV@state.gov. Be sure to include biographical details (names, dates of birth, passport numbers) so that the files can be more easily accessed. Opsynene: |

Greetings King0712. First of all, please try to relax. We know the process can be complicated, stressful, and frustrating at times. We try our best to make it as straightforward as possible, while at the same time meeting incredible demand and upholding our laws. Don't focus on documents--unfortunately in this environment, they are all too easily and commonly faked, so we don't bother looking at them most times. Just be open and honest. Be clear about what you want to do on your trip. King0712: |

Hello VO, Nice job you are doing here, My family is going for a vacation in New Jersey before the end of this month but we can't get a flight to NJ within our budget. Someone suggested we fly into New York and then to New Jersey since they are very close. My question is aren't we going to have issues at the POE since we filled New Jersey as our destination? Thank you. |

Good day VO, I have a valid b1/b2 visa and I intend it to use it for the first time in April. I'm rounding up with my internship and won't be due for another posting (NYSC) till around September. I want to milk my holiday and spend 3months in the US visiting family. Now my question is, I know it's not illegal to spend 3months in the US but is it considered a 'red-flag'? People keep telling me to just buy a 1month ticket and then do change of dates when I get in. That's borderline fraudulent but I don't want to be sorry I didn't listen. Kindly advice? |

Good morning VO,anyone whom hasn't been outside the country before, because he earns satisfactory money which made him to be in the country and now wants to go to the USA for a b1/b2 visa conference, to add his CV? Does travel history qualify one to get a visa? Because The VO always ask if you have ever been out of country before, I like honesty because it pays |

hello VO, thanks for the wonderful job you doing in answering questions. Please, I am a single parent to a 4 year old girl, her birth certificate even doesn't have a father's name as am the only parent she has. My mother intends to take my child to visit Disney world in florida, my mother already has a visa but I intend to apply for a visa for my daughter so my mum can take her. Is it possible for my mum (her grandmother) to take my daughter for the visa interview? if yes, what supporting documents does she need. thanks |

Hello Pitykitten. Every situation is different. When a person of working age goes on holiday for an extended period of time, it begs the question what sort of job would let them off for so long, and how are they paying their way in a much more expensive country. And if the answer is that they don't have a job, it begs a different question: what's holding them back? Pitykitten: |

Re: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by abujaniv: 9:09pm On Jan 11, 2017 |
Hi bucciajayi. It may be possible. If you have both passports by the time of your interview, take them both to the Embassy/Consulate and at the first window, be sure to ask that the newest one's data (number, expiration date, etc.) is put into your file. If they can't do it, ask the visa officer. Worst case scenario, you'll just have to carry both for a couple years. bucciajayi: |

Good day, you are doing a nice job putting Nigerians through. I am 26 years of age, Male and engage I want to travel to USA and spend my annual leave over there, will be there for just two weeks. I work at the Local Government and I have been there for 2 years now. My question: is it a must I have travel experience before I can be granted a visa because someone said it is compulsory and I have not travel out of the country before. |
