The Deceit And Insincerity of PRESSID Scholarship. by theRealTruth: 9:02pm On Jul 04, 2014
It is just quite unfortunate that the much publicised Presidential Special Scholarship for Innovation and Development is beginning to loose it's integrity and credibility. Just after almost two years after the take-off of the scholarship schemes, the Nigeria factor has begun to creep in.

First, it was the issue that Scholars will be entitled to a graduate salary which was included in the award letter. Barely a year after the implementation committee of the scholarship has reneged on the agreement to implement the aspect citing no reason. It's very pathetic that it left some scholars in a distraught condition, as some of them who are working with some Nigerian universities refused to ask for studies leave with pay due to the promise by the president as stated in the award letter.

Secondly, after submission of estimates of living expenses by scholars as presented by each of the 25 universities to the implementation committee which was approved by the Executive Secretary of NUC, they are now refusing to pay the balance of the living expenses citing some bogus reasons, and these balance is as high as £1,600 especially for scholars in the United Kingdom.

It is pertinent, the truth about how the schemes is being comes to public knowledge as other Nigerian scholarship schemes do not exhibit this habit of shifting the goal posts when the match is on.

Thanks for your sincere contributions and may GOD bless Nigeria.

NB: The Mods should help move this tread to the front page after much contributions is made to give it the needed publicity. Thanks
