AB Artworld presents our first pastel workshop, titled "Pastel Art", taught by Jonahan Jefferson. It will cover techniques of pastel usage including painting and drawing with pastels.

Time: 12pm prompt (no late coming so you can get a good easel spot)

Easels will be provided for use of workshop attendees and a free sheet of pastel paper, to sample.

Yes! It is open to anyone of any age, you can register at our store at 14 Matthew Street, Ojuelegba, beside FCMB, Surulere, or you can call 08150771317 to get an account number to pay into.

Easels will be provided for your use and you can either bring your pastels or purchase from us (with a discount) on the day of the workshop. It's filling up quickly, so hurry!!

"Black Market" Art Exhibition

The Osh Gallery presents an art installation by Pwavidon Mathias.

"Black Market", an art installation by Pwavidon Mathias addressing the subject of fuel scarcity within a socio-political context will open at The Osh Gallery tomorrow, 2nd of August, 2014. Mathias explores the various props and scenarios that characterise the all too familiar seasonal bouts of petroleum scarcity in the Nigerian state. This exhibition is open to the general public and it will also feature performances from Sammy of X3m Music and renowned Spoken Word giant, Sage Hasson.

The Exhibition will start at 3pm on 2nd August, 2014.

ART HISTORY: CHINWE CHUKWUOGO-ROY (MBE). Chinwe Chukwuogo-Roy was born in Ondo in 1951, Nigeria but later moved to Eastern Nigeria, where she and her family were affected by the Nigerian Civil war. As a child, she always knew she wanted to be an artist and would constantly draw. Today, we are going to take a look at architect, sculptor, scenic designer DEMAS NWOKO. He studied Fine Arts at the College of Arts, Science and Technology, Zaria in the late 1950s and went to the Centre Français du Théâtre in Paris to learn Scenic Design. Demas Nwoko's designs were made such as to have interior temperatures to be in contrast to the exterior temperatures at most times.
