For those interested in knowing what goes on at the boot camp should read blog posts of the campers at medium.com. Each camper is required to write his/her experience throughout the home clinic. A Google search of 'andela bootcamp medium' would bring up something. Good luck to current home study applicants.

okay there is really no fixed time for your home based test. you ought to log into your proctor lab and you would find your assessments there. As you study each curriculum you can take the supposed test.(I assume you already got an invite to start taking the curriculum)....All the best

the truth is.. if u've neva had a prior knowledge of programming or computer science.. then u might have to give up this phase of intake..

cos the time frame is too short.. to cover it... like i said its more than what you expecting.

my advice is this:

go home

take your time

study python and Js to a minimum of intermediate level..d

if possible touch ruby a bit

the rest in the home study curriculum ... is a piece of cake

study the home curriculum

now apply again

it doesnt matter when you finish ... the application is there waiting for u

u need more than u think to get there... cos if you just study a bit and with the help of friend bypass the proctor test.. then
u would probably not find it possible to cope... u wont even be a match for the bootcamp..

though u should apply to see the nature of everything but like i said... u might not make it without what i said above.

this is exactly what am doing now..... i started learning python about three weeks ago.. and now i have been able to solve most problems in the proctor test.. and i know i've gone far.... will be starting Js maybe next month

good luck

It's official. Andela has moved their assessment to Qualified.io. You can't copy and paste code and get away with it anymore, so sit up and learn before applying. grin

This is the message I got too..

I think it makes sense but it's really challenging to learn python programming.. But almost through..

Thank you for applying to Andela!

As you strive to become a world-class technologist, Andela is committed to providing you with the tools you need to advance your knowledge and to demonstrate your growth.

Andela has recently partnered with Qualified.io, a leading technical aptitude software, to improve our candidate evaluation process. We have been moving our resources towards this platform based on our belief that it can provide a more reliable indicator of fit for Fellowship and, as we navigate the transition, ultimately result in a better candidate experience.

You may have received the Proctor test and even started to take it - kindly stop taking the Proctor test. We will send you a new test link via Qualified by May 17th, 2017. In order to be considered for this cohort, you must take the Qualified test.

The content and assessments on these new platforms remain directly linked to the Andela’s Curriculum at curriculum.andela.com as well as our open source on Github.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to constantly improve our processes, like you we always have plenty to learn and we look forward to your feedback at nigeria.apply@andela.com.

Wishing you best of luck,

The Andela Nigeria Talent Team

it is introduced in the mail adex pasted above. Let's just say Qualified.io makes it harder to get away with trying to pass the assessment by getting external help. If they like, Andela recruitment team can even watch a playback that shows how you typed each solution code, letter by letter, line by line. They would even see where you simply did copy and paste.

I got an invite to write the test. but my question is, can I write the test little by little or I must complete it in one sweep once I start it?

It is timed, although I don't know if it is Andela that's interested in the timing or its simply Qualified.io style. The quizes are individually timed and so is the whole assessment. From my observations so far, the time starts when you start but doesn't seem to stop until you are completely done.

It is estimated about 4hrs would be enough to finish the 16 challenges, but the instructions say you wouldn't be stopped even if the time has elapsed. So yeah, except for each quiz that you must complete once you start, you can always return to continue the assessment.

Modified: The counter pauses when you log out of your account.
